Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Interesting that bluewolf went for carbs and carbs, whereas Brian went for double protein. With caffeine being the common denominator.

I had my first coffee already, another at 11am.

Just passed McDonald's in the trainstation. I asked the server abouts gainz from the sausage and egg mcmuffin. She hadn't a clue so I left.

Please no fighting. I can compromise.
Had beef and eggs on a wholemeal bap, large one. With another coffee.

    Deads in 3.5 hours. #beefpulls

If the bap wasn't gluten-free, you've just made a hyoooj mistake.

    But gluten is da proteins.

Anyway, equaled my 5RM in bench press (it is Monday after-all). Then over to deadlifts and hit the 5 reps I'd missed twice. Not a PR, but heaviest in 6-9 months.

    Beef and eggs FTW.

There's a reason you can't spell 'gluten' without 'neg'.

    QED.

You won't win. A porridge based diet has made you weak.

When I have porridge it has whey in it to offset the onset of weakness.

If he ate All Bran, he probably ate porridge. And Special K.

If your shins get a bit banged up from deadlifting or weightlifting, these motorbike socks in Aldi today are pretty good. And cheaper than you'll get Gah socks for. They're also a bit thicker on the front.

Doug Young never wore motor bike socks to deadlift.

    Genuine LOL at that.

    Bualadh bos.

To be fair, if he was going to wear socks, he'd probably wear motorbike socks.

Watched that last night. Eoin Murphy's squat ROM seems so short you doubt he hit depth until you replay and check.

I was told to but shoes on while dead lifting yesterday.

Time to get some cheap penny's canvas shoes

I deadlift in cheap canvas shoes from Penneys 90% of the time. They're grand for the job.

I had cheap fake cons from dunnes but they don't seem to have them any more so it's penneys ones. For comps only though

I've been meaning to buy some crappy cons for deadlifting for months now! Just to keep things constant for the meet as I deadlift in my socks in the gym :D

Try eBay. I bought "Converse" from china and used them for years with no bother.

My current lifting shoes are Evisu espadrilles I bought in TKMaxx years ago. Mainly because I have a slight obsession with Japan.

In other news, I learned my shoes were espadrilles about 5 minutes ago.

Just googled them. Never knew that's what you called those slipper-like shoes.

I have a pair of these that I was given. They're nice for deadlifting in but a bit of a pain in the hole to put on cos you have to loosen the laces so much to put them and tightening them back up takes an age (relatively speaking)

I went from squatting to deadlifting while still wearing my adipowers last week, without noticing until after. They were relatively comfortable for deadlifting in.

    Anyone else take that approach?
