Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

And putting them on is a warm up in and of itself!

Yeah I'm wondering how that's gonna be. Won't be using them til I get back up towards PR territory so will be a while before I find out.

But luckily my calves won't be a stumbling block.

When I first got mine I actually put them over the post at the end of my bed to stretch them out a bit which helped! I've very fat calves :pac: so that might not be necessary for everyone!

Had my first ever go off dry needling today.

It gets a big thumbs up from me. Elbow feels better than it has in weeks.

Went to that physio you recommended and he said dry needling is in my near future. Kinda looking forward to it!

One the weirdest sensations, but so effective :D

I went in a touch sceptical, if I'm perfectly honest, because I had thought of it as being in the same ball-park as acupuncture.

I asked about it and he said he was a firm believer in it and explained the principles of how it worked and there was a distinct absence of woo, which made me more comfortable about giving it a go.

Pleasantly surprised at how much it improved things!

Only if I stay longer than is needed on any one area.

Dry needling is a horrific experience. But god damn does it work. I've had IT band, calf and hamstrings all done.

A horrific experience? Or an horrific experience? Neither looks right.

Depends where you get it. He went right into the forearm muscles and only one was in any way uncomfortable.

    It's 'a horrific'.

Depends on if the 'h' is pronounced/audible. An honest mistake. A horrific experience.

Not just 'h' either. An umbrella. A university.

    or

"an giant pussy who found dry needling horrific"?

I've had glutes, hamstrings, calves and shoulder done but pecs are by far the worst.

You don't find having muscle spasms induced by dry needling unpleasant? When I had my hamstrings and calfs done I was close to tears.

    I don't have calves :(

I just. Like I said, it depends where you have it. I don't imagine the discomfort in the forearm would be as bad as other spots.

    Calves = baby cows
Calfs = muscle on your legs

Fair enough. I'd say the bigger the muscle, the more it hurts.

I disagree. So does Websters dictionary. I've always used calfs for the leg muscles, but upon further research both calves and calfs are correct.

Merriam-Webster, lists calfs as an option for the plural of calf.

I know a Miriam - her standard of English is atrocious.

I think that has made me suspicious of Merriam Webster, subconsciously.

Blocked. Looks like it might be down to music cos it says UMG (Universal) blocked it on content.
