Good to see his bicep is holding up.

I think that's why he switched to hook grip.

    That and the self loathing.

Very quiet...I was full sure there would be some snow shovelling, mobility exercises on here by now....

I've been warming up, doing 10cm by 2x5m squared parallel driveway scoops the last two mornings. Have a beasting ahead of me in the morning. May try and break the Irish regional record of 4/50cm, 2x5sqm. Plus a finisher of design a maze in the back garden.

I did some foam rolling, reaching situps, assisted pull ups, and press ups yesterday. going cracked!!
i never wanted a home gym but on days like today... :D
mobility would definitely be the right call though

I went for a walk in deep snow and did some squat sits yesterday, but that's it.

I'm working from home today but I don't care - I'm going to play in the snow later. Work can wait.

Did some shoulder dislocates yesterday morning - really helped with throwing snowballs.

Accuracy and power increased hugely. Some people were nailed.

Went for another walk. Wanted to do a slav squat in the snow but it was so high I would have ended up with a freezing wet arse and balls

Was absent mindedly flexing and extending my wrists during a boring Skype meeting today when I forced my sore wrist into flexion and there was an almighty crunch and pain.

But the pain died quickly and it feels like something moved back into place.

I'll find out tomorrow (assuming I can train) if that pain I've had for 2 months is any better. It probably isn't but that was one of those pains that felt as good as it did bad.

    Or maybe I'm a masochist.

It's absolutely high. Miles high. And that's even from the angle where it looks best. But that's what passes for depth at that level.
    Does a side view exist?

His records at IPF world level are always to depth. I would put money on his depth being fine from the side.

His hip crease is absolutely below that line

I think we have different understandings on hip crease.
I'm no a PL judge, but to me hip crease is between the upper surface of the quad and pelvis.
Plus the camera is angled up so that blue line isn't parallel to the ground

Given that I've squatted in competition, I know how the hip crease is defined in the IPF.

Go back and look at other squats from him and other SHWs. And compare front and side. Will always look high from the front because of the size of their thighs. Watched it in slow mo and I don't think there's an issue with depth.

Just to add, I fully accept the hip crease rule hinders the big guys more due to having more mass on their bones. To get hip crease below the knee they probably need to hit a deeper hip/knee angle.

And was there any thing incorrect with my understanding above?

Was talking about the above specific squat only. And others I've seen have looked fine.
The front might look higher in general. But dropping the camera below the knee also makes it look deeper. Side view is much more useful imo

No. But that doesn't mean we understand it differently. "Top surface of the leg at the hip joint". Watched it in slow motion, frame by frame and I think it was in. You don't and thats fine.

When a side view becomes available it will be clearer.

I concur, looked a mile high from the front. Need a side view to really tell though.

I walked about 8km in the snow yesterday and another 3km this morning to retrieve the car and get to work. My legs are on fire sitting at the desk. I think I need to work on my conditioning for a while.

Mine doesn't reopen until tomorrow :(:(

Delighted the snow has finally gone - it had been very treacherous - think I broke my finger by catching it under a kettlebell as I had to train at home
