The standard router from meteor does not give you alot of data ,
and it depends where you live .how good is your 3g signal with meteor or
    three.ie

if i buy 20 euro credit and select data plan on three network i can browse the web
for 30 days on my phone and tether data signal to my laptop or tablet .
I dont think this is enough for running an android box if you wanna
watch tv ,netflix etc streaming video every day .Every week.
i,m in dublin and my signal is good enough for youtube in sd mode,
eg non HD VIDEO mode .
    see satellite broadband .

the caps are 20g-30gig thats not much ,less than a mobile wireless serviced

Hi CarPhone warehouse have a deal for all you can eat data with 3 for €25 a month sim only.

You need to be getting 10meg download speed to run a TV streaming box.

There are kits that can be installed such as an arial on the outside of the house that can increase your speeds.

I have installed a few in the midlands area and they work quite well.

If you read the terms and conditions you shouldnt be trthering to a laptop.
That said from personal experience. Putting a 3 sim into a 4g phone at home was maxing at 15 meg connection but when it got bad it went non existant.
Same sim card in a 3 mobile router which was only 3g gave a fairly consistant 8 to 10 megs of a connection.
