Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Liverpool-v-Swansea.jpg

I started the thread for the meeting of these 3 years ago and it finished up 4-3 to Liverpool in a nerve shredding display of defensive ineptitude. Something similar today would be great. Who needs nerves anyway?

I predict 2 or 3 - 0 to the mighty not scoring as freely as they were reds.

Firmino could do with getting back on the scoresheet. 3-0.

I think Firmino will be back with a bang today.

Hopefully Matip will be thrown straight in as he could be needed to snuff out Llorente in particular.

On paper this is a game Sturridge should thrive in but I'd not start him I have to say - sooner go with Coutinho/Firmino/Origi

Annoying lack of Matip....and Origi. Still at least the bench is looking better now.

    Swansea:

Fabiański; Naughton, Fernández, Mawson, Olsson; Fer, Cork, Carroll; Routledge, Llorente, Sigurðsson

    Subs:

Nordfeldt, Rangel, Amat, Fulton, Dyer, McBurnie, Bastón

I wouldn't mind seeing him brought on in midfield, if we're comfortable. He played DCM at Schalke, iirc, and he's a good, positive passer.

Any win will do. Liverpool to win by 1.

I very much doubt that will happen. Klopp has shown no inclination to use him there,so very unlikely to start now. He needs time in his proper position for us.

Swansea will no doubt pick today to have their finest defensive performance of the season so far, but it'll be back to shambles next weekend again probably.

Hopefully there will be some great, incisive attacking from Liverpool today to not give Swansea a chance to get anything from the game, but those performances haven't quite happened lately. Hopefully Coutinho back will be a catalyst for a better attacking performance.

Easy win for pool here so much firepower I'd go 3 nil.

"Short sleeves, no gloves, the way it should be"
    "It's a man's game"

BT's coverage is unashamedly stuck in the 70's.

Nominally, yes. There will be a lot of swapping around though as play develops.

Its a soft comment - don't take harm. Maybe your just too PC.

I wouldn't take it seriously but it does fit with BT's typical Premier League coverage. It's even more dumbed down than Sky's.

Clyne is so free, he has to be used more.

That's more like quick passing trying and beat the Swansea bus

Just to catch out people like you who can't spare 10 seconds in the preceding week to check the kick off time!

Liverpool looking comfortable so far. Only a matter of time till we break them down.

Or get caught with a sucker punch. We've fashioned a few chances, but still look a little laboured against a massed defence.

Missing the pace that Mane offers and which creates doubt, Clyne is not quick enough in thought or action so far.

  • Subscribers Posts: 32,855 ✭✭✭✭5starpool

Considering the height of our front players, we;re playing a disproportionate amount of crosses into the box in my opinion.

Guess we just have to get used to teams doing this against us, not even trying to attack.
