    Any sugestions for repair shop ... hit a snag with my Samsung S3 (for the techies - system UI has stopped) ....

    Can you access your bootloader? Hold power and volume down? If so you might be able to flash a new stable ROM.

    It sounds like just a software issue. I would back up your important data (pictures etc) and do a factory reset. Do you think you can do that? It's pretty easy.
