Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I was looking forward to the novelty of Fellaini up front. Shame.

So after all the talk of fellaini up front, he doesn't even make the starting 11 :)

Think we are going to get over run in midfield, not confident at all

Im hoping its 433 as I'd actually like to see how Darmian would do as a DM as he is decent enough on the ball.. though I doubt this match is the match to trial that

Could be Jones in midfield ;) after all that is where he had one of his best games for united ;);)

I think it'll be a tight game with United winning by a single goal.

    Jones and Darmian. Ugh!

Fascinated to see how they line up.

    Jones in the dm

I hope so much its a 5-4-1 like Chelsea's. The 3-4-3 thing is a myth to make the side seem like it's more attacking on paper. Chelsea have been playing a 5-4-1 all season.

No Carrick is interesting, especially if Jones plays midfield. His fragility in big games has been noted, this selection would suggest Jose agrees.

    Jones man marking hazard

541 when defending, 343 when attacking

Jones did a man marking job on Ronaldo when Jose was over Madrid and did very well

Liking the set up so far. Seems like we are crowding them out in their half.

And he did well so that's why he on hazard

Chelsea turning the screw a bit now after an impressive start from Utd.

Valencia please don't get your pocket picked again in your own half. Especially by Hazard.

There was no one to give it to. He needed support.

Have to say we are playing quite well at the moment. Still though we are dodgy in the back

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 20,779 ✭✭✭✭jayo26

    Pogba don't defend lads ;)

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,930 ✭✭✭KH25

Keown and his constant jibes at Jose about Rashford is doing my head in.

Well get rid of it then.

Young has been poor so far.

    Wtf happened?

Herrera, what a clown. Coping fine and he does that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,689 ✭✭✭sky88

Ahh felt it was coming even though it wasn't a yellow

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,019 ✭✭✭✭adox

    Just stupid from Herrera.

You always get the feeling he will do that. Idiotic and most likely cost us the game.

    Why not take off young

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,017 ✭✭✭sReq | uTeK

Idiotic. Jones has had about 7 fouls and Herrera had 1 before that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,949 ✭✭✭✭Mars Bar

And now De Gea is down

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,383 ✭✭✭S.M.B.

That's the last thing we need for our hectic run of fixtures.

Because young has played wing back throughout his career and would be a better defender

I saw a red coming as soon as I saw who was reffing. Loves to bring attention to himself.

Ref might have just ruined the game for us now!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,557 ✭✭✭mewe

For a second yellow that was bloody harsh I thought. He could have given him a warning.

Young will offer more defensively I suppose is the thinking. Disappointed to see Miki off though. The more I think about the foul from Herrera th more annoying it gets.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,638 ✭✭✭✭bangkok

    Very soft red card

    He can defend.

This can only be a smash and grab it we're going to progress. Young suits that more than Miki.

Deserved bookings. Love Herrera but that was thick.

    It'll get bad now.

So Jones playing a game in midfield 4 years ago is why Jose doesn't play Carrick today? Its nothing to do with what Jose thinks of Carrick? Ok. Good lad.

    Its working well isn't it?

    Meh I blame Herrera.

Need to make it to half time without conceding
