I don't understand the "didn't look like he gave a toss" stuff. How is he supposed to look?

I don't understand the "didn't look like he gave a toss" stuff. How is he supposed to look?

Think he ment to start sticking pegs on his eyes or needles in his legs when we get defeated.

The problem is while I defend pogba I believe he will come good I can see he along with the rest of the team had a average game and has been up and down for a while but it's the comments that are completely hyperbole that makes it laughable.

He dont care his mind aint here,
    He was a mistake,
He dont run or put in a shift,
    He can't defend,
    He dont create anything,
He is worst player on pitch.
He don't care because he smiles after a loss and has an odd haircut.

Pogba is going threw a dip in form many players do it he has shown in the past he is a class player and he will show it again.

Good players don't become bad overnight unless your Torres or Schevchenko.

Good players drop in performance all the time (Rooney, Di Maria, Veron, any defender under Guardiola, Valencia, Mahrez, Payet, countless others)

Young players do not fulfill their potential all the time (Young Brazilian next big thing X1000)

There is plenty of hyperbole floating around of course, but there are also some genuine questions that need answering regarding this situation.

They sure are but we can't answer them we can within reason talk about each game as they pass by but the constant focusing on one player doesn't go anywhere.

For example pogba made an absolute excellent tackle in the first half when he was among deeper and brought the ball forward very well but no one focus on that they make over react to a dug in performance in the second half when we lost a player due to a sending off.

I said the other day of our forwards had to of put away quarter the chances that pogba had createdbover this season we would be looking at a different team.

Zlatan while our top scorer is also the leading player in the league for missed chances and who created them chances? Was mostly pogba.

He is having an average season but he is by far not our biggest problem.

I have had no real issue with Pogba but last night there was a moment that I mentioned at the time which really worried me.

He got the ball taken of his toe at the edge of the box in one of those scuffles that he continuously finds himself in. He stood there with his hands on his hips looking at the ref while play carried on. The ball ended up no more than 10 yards away from him with an onslaught of Chelsea attackers in and around the box.

I'm not sure if he was disappointed with the refs decision or he was pissed with himself but either way that was not the time and place to have a little bit of a tantrum.

In reminded me of what Ronaldo used do when he first joined all those years ago. Unfortunately for Pogba this is equally likely to happen on the edge of our box or in the centre of the park. Ronaldo had the luxury of it usually happening deep in the opponents half and that still pissed a lot of people off.

I think people are just having totally unrealistic expectations based on the price tag.

So just cause he cost €100 he is not susceptible to tiredness and fatigue?

Jose can use whatever excuse he wants (also, I think he has made another bags of this) but he needs to withdraw Pogba for a few games, accept the consequences, but have him firing and rested ahead of a return.

Play him Thursday to secure the win there. His ability and class should carry him through at home against that team.

Then rest him against Boro away and West Brom at home. Give Fellaini and Carrick game time there. And with two games off have him back for Everton at home fresh.

I actually typed "We should be beating Boro away who are terrible and West Brom at home without Pogba" but what I edited to was "We will probably drop points here with or without him so the **** does it matter give him a rest"

meh, happy enough with that. I presume failing to control leads to fine and warning that escalations for further incidents follow etc

Rojo has had a hell and a season between the stamp and a couple of 2 footed lunges :)

He should be charged. He clearly stamped on him and its embarrassing by FA that they miss that.

If I was Jose I be having a word with him

I bet Michael Oliver was bullied by Man United supporters in school.

Hazard deserved what he got ,the guy is one of the biggest divers in England ,constantly leaving his leg behind him trying to win a free.

A few more guys stamping on him Cantonesque style and he might get the message .

It's a joke on both fronts. Rojo should be charged and the "failing to control their players" charge is a complete nonsense. What has led to them being charged with that?

Chelsea should be charged with failing to control their players and bringing the game into disrepute with the embarrassing nonsense from Costa and Hazard.

The FA really do make some idiotic decisions so I suppose we shouldn't be surprised.

I presume it was the aftermath of the red card surrounding the ref. Thats all it could be, we didn't pick up many yellows as far as i remember.

I think Hazard rolling to where Rojo was putting his foot is why it was not declared a stamp and a ban.
I know in the match thread some think I was crazy for my opinion, but seems the FA saw similar as in not intentional.

So big Rom has told Everton he won't sign a new deal. Won't has Mino or José been in touch? If Zlatan to the U.S rumors are true he'd be a good fit in the big burly cf mold

Would absolutely adore Lukaku to United. Really has shown a new demension to his game this year under RK

Lukaku has 20 goals in 29 games this season apparently!

Don't know how he does it aged only 23.

Rojo has impressed me with his performances this season, but I can't give him the benefit of the doubt with that stamp. He got away with two lunges earlier in the season, now this, he must know where the FA bury their bodies.

Pogba has played less than 10 games so far since his return to United where he really impressed me. It's only his first season back, in a transitional team, he's only 23 and therefore barely walking, all of that, but still I need to see more from him.

For example, at times last night he was just letting the game play past him. Throw a ref's shirt on him, and his movements were all too similar to Michael Oliver's at times. For how I think Pogba should be playing as a minimum, I find it hard to see past his first full game back v Southampton last August. That was a standard that he should be producing most games. I'm just not seeing that yet anywhere near consistently.

Herrera is not Xavi at the moment or undeserving of criticism, but I think he has a lot to do in the middle there as things are. With Pogba under-performing and the team clearly in need of a DM in there for most games, a DM we don't seem to have with Carrick on the wane, I'd like to see how Herrera functions in a fully organised and competent midfield.

He should have known better last night following Michael Oliver's talk with Jones and Smalling - Even though Herrera wasn't privy to the words, the body language clearly said it was a "Cut out the cynical fouls on Hazard, next one gets a card" summit between the ref, Jones and Smalling.

He should have known better, but I won't be too harsh on him myself. He left the leg in, while Hazard dragged his. If he let Hazard go by him unchallenged and then Hazard went on to create/score a goal in that attack, what would we be saying about Herrera then?

He's rash at times, we need that though. That same quality is the one which sees him poach/intercept the ball back from the opposition defences to smother their counter-attack and resume our own attack. Something you see from him in many games. I'm not too worried about his discipline though. That was his second red card of the season, in both cases the result of two yellow cards. His first dismissal was harsh against Burnley last October, when he slipped into a challenge on a water-logged pitch.

Anyway, I feel we could see more from Herrera once we see a more consistent performance from Pogba. I'm not using Pogba to absolve any of Herrera's negatives, just that the two can't work as the unit they need to be while Pogba is, I dunno, the way he is right now.

Fink he will go to Chelsea.

Would love him, very much a Jose type forward.

Also, lol at Rocko getting away with it last night.

Sure to add a bit more fuel to the already rampant anti José / anti United brigade.

Its a massive balls up by the FA (IMO) but I'm bloody delighted, he has been a revelation all season at centre half.

No matter how bad things are thank **** I dont support Chelsea.

    Their support is joke shop.

Some of them aren't the brightest stars in heaven god bless em.

An overdose of Burberry and a bit of the ol racism clearly has odd effects.

    Just say no, kids.

He's exceeded what I thought he would do as he's been very good but I always found the 'Rojo is crap' stuff a bit over the top. He's a 50 cap international. I know Argentina don't have defenders on the same planet as their attackers but that still takes some doing. It's the same with people saying Romero is useless. He's a decent goalie

Everyone claiming Rojo is defo getting a ban needs to apologise to whoever they argued to about it. You guys were wrong. :)

Also, does anyone know if there's a setting to ignore the word "Pogba" on here? Skipped about a hundred posts of extreme opinions on the lad. The Truth is that he is doing alright. Not great yet, but not as poor as some are making out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,843 ✭✭✭GSPfan

Fifa, Uefa, Whoever, seriously need to consider sin bins.

They should keep red and yellow cards for violent conduct and physically dangerous challenges. Persistant fouling, shirt pulling, time wasting, diving, foul language, professionl fouls, all should be sin bin offences. It would keep the game more honest as its a harsh enough penalty to effect a game but not so harsh that a game is ruined for two yellow card offences.

You find now that refs are so inconsistent with dishing out cards cause they know they'll be ruining games and everyone will be criticising them as a result. If they dish out cards they are apparently looking for attention, and if they don't then they bottled it. They can't win.

I'm happy he won't be charged but I'm sticking to my guns, I watched it again now and it was a stamp

As far as pogba, he has not been great as of late but the same can be said for our overall form

I'm still happy we bought him but he was never worth £90 million (£65 million IMO) but that is how the market is now

Hopefully he'd settle for us though :P

I think Rojo pulled out and barely touched him. If he really did touch him, Hazard would still be rolling around in pain. But instead he pops back up to complain:

Also about persistent fouling and the warning the referee gave to Smalling, there is no such rule about persistent fouling on one particular player. The rule is BY a player.
Referee should be alert at all times to players who persistently infringe the Laws. In particular, they must be aware that even if a player commits a number of different offences, he must still be cautioned for persistently infringing the Laws.

That would be a very good deal for both clubs in my view. But as it rarely happens like that I would see Lukaku being sold for around £55 million and Rooney being sold to Everton for around £12 million.

At this stage I'm not certain of Zlatan staying and I'd be grand with him leaving if we could get a longterm quality replacement. Lukaku, while not my top choice, is a proven goal scorer.

So with Lukaku saying he is not signing a new contract, after previously saying he would. Dya's think we will be in for him and dya reckon he would be a better fit than Griezmann..

Atm I think he would be a better fit and if we picked him and a proper DM up I think it would make us a pretty formidable team going forward with an core of young players that could set us up for 6/7 years
