Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    rashford is so indecisive

Had the exact same word in my head. He looks frustrated now too.

Mkhitaryan would run a muck if he comes on.

    Lingard scoring another beauty.

Lingard in the number 10 position seems to be a good fit. He drives forward a lot.

I actually think for once all this negativity might be a good thing when we romp home 4-1 winners tomorrow there will be an all night party :-)

Had feeling the lads could put in a big performance today. Maybe not 4-1 (yet) but on course to leapfrog in table :-)

Bailly did very well there in the set up.

    Savage goal.

Still not good enough for us.

Should be the 3 points wrapped up anyway.

I've often been critical of Lingard but he's been excellent today I think.

    Don't get this logic.

The players who I'm constantly told arnt good enough have won us the match today.

I expect goals from Lingard, he hasn't been doing it enough, one could argue he has not played a lot, but he showed what he could do today, and that makes me happy.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,347 ✭✭✭Quandary

Fair play to Lingard, he's had a great game and scored an absolute cracker. It would be brilliant if he could produce this kind of form more often. No surprise it's happening when we're playing a counterattack game. A team playing counter attacking football with lots of pace out wide and up front are a nightmare to play against, particularly when sitting on a lead.

    What's not to get?

Aside from cropping up with a goal every now and again, his performances have not been good enough for a team that wants to be challenging at the highest level.

    In my opinion.

Lingard is the perfect squad player. He knows he isn't good enough to start ahead of other players but he does an effective job when we need him. He is definitely good enough for us in the role he currently occupies.

He's a squad player and a great one at that. No team has 22 super stars.

    Rashford been noticeably bad

Rashford seriously needs to hit the gym during summer to get the upper body strength increased.

He is always getting bullied off the ball

Fabio once scored the opener to help us beat Arsenal 2-0, was that proof that he was good enough for United or were there any other games taken into consideration?

    Pathetic defending

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,843 ✭✭✭GSPfan

Does Jones wear studs? Slips everytime the ball is near him.

We could mess this up now.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,638 ✭✭✭✭bangkok

why are we playing so deep, 6 at the back?!! ffs just attack and get another goal. middlesbrough are awful!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,205 ✭✭✭Lucas Hood

Bring Fosu Mensah on for Rashford could do with an extra player at the back.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,752 ✭✭✭Thepoet85

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,030 ✭✭✭Minderbinder

Think Rashford is justifiably frustrated. He has been unlucky not to get a goal, especially the one Valdes saved at point blank range. He is being used too much for his pace because we have failed to control a game against Middlesbrough, and have often taken the easy option to play a percentage ball into space for Rashford because we're not courageous enough to be more creative. Of course Rashford is naive enough to run after things all day.

He is a lot more than just a sprinter but when you're chasing balls into space all day it tires you out, making it a lot harder to produce technical brilliance when you finally have the ball under control.

I've always been very pro Jose but this week, today in particular, has absolutely pathetic. Terrible tactics and decisions. Terrible squad use. Terrible performances.
