Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My favorite goal of the day.

    Was Bailly bitten?

200th game for United and 1st league goal of the season for Valencia.

The only chance he'll have to score with his left and he doesn't!

Good man Val - happy 200th appearance. Always 100% commitment to the team.

Tony V is an absolute tank. 91st min playing right back and he closes down the keeper like that. Brilliant.

also bad form Jose going down the tunnel like that before game over

That's what it looked like alright.

Absolutely terrible 2nd half overall but don't care, out of 6th!!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,935 ✭✭✭Van.Bosch

Does Mourinho infuriate anyone else, always putting on an act.

    Great win

I'm a bit annoyed we got that goal. It's so undeserved considering how we've played for the last 20 minutes. Might encourage Mourinho to do similar in the future.

Fabio once scored the opener to help us beat Arsenal 2-0, was that proof that he was good enough for United or were there any other games taken into consideration?

I liked Fabio and he would have been a grand squad player just like Lingard is.

Never in doubt once we managed to escape from 6th

Thought Rashford and Smalling were very poor. And the tactics weren't great.

But 3-1, and we finally, FINALLY move above Arsenal!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,136 ✭✭✭✭How Soon Is Now

I'll take it 3 points 3 goals. Hard work done by some the players that obviously aren't good enough for us......

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,006 ✭✭✭beno619

I've always been very pro Jose but this week, today in particular, has absolutely pathetic. Terrible tactics and decisions. Terrible squad use. Terrible performances.

Decent use of the squad today but have to agree on the other points.

He might have been called up for unsportman play putting it in with his left, would have been worse then getting down on his hands and knees and heading it in

Whats the ideal result now in Pool vs City ???

Should defo go with 7 at the back next game.
Valencia Bailly Smalling Jones Rojo Blind Young.
    6 just isn't enough.

Not bad form at all if one of his players was bitten which looks like what happened.

rashford was indecisive, should have put that chance away in the 1st half, thought hw would have learned form the chelsea game, smalling was cat

4-4, 4 red cards, mass brawl, 2 managers sent off, pitch invasion, 6 injuries, 2 clubs hit with massive fines. i'll take that :)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,388 ✭✭✭✭Jayop

Never hope for injuries. Bad omens.

A bit of afters in the tunnel, maybe Gestede did bite Bailly.

If that goal convinces Mourinho that today's tactics are the way to see out games in future then we are in trouble.

You think Bailly went that nuts from a kiss? Even so Gestede was acting the magot.

Karanka is good friends with José, maybe he wanted to make a point to the watching chairman. I'm sure he'll meet up with Agnew afterwards.

Fellaini is so softly spoken. It's hilarious.

That goal will have zero impact on how Jose will want to see out games in future.

gestede didnt bite him or kiss him, did nothing

No bite. Said something to him though.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,181 ✭✭✭Crimson King

Anyone else nervous as fcuk every time the ball came near Smalling today?

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 42,606 Mod ✭✭✭✭Lord TSC

    No bite.

Seems to be he whispered something to Bailly. But the replays show no biting.

Time to go troll the match thread

To be fair he's long enough in the game to know how to see out games and I don't think that goal will make his mind up one way or the other.

I do agree though it was a bit of a shambolic last 20 minutes. Ultra deep and barely had a kick.

The win was the main thing though.

Don't understand anyone moaning today. We won 3-1 and we are in 5th. 3rd game in 6 days with a lot of injuries and suspensions and a lot of changes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,019 ✭✭✭✭adox

Just on Rashford, I thought he was excellent in the first half. Of course couldn't finish his dinner but had the Boro defence ran ragged. Himself and Lingard linked up really well.

More annonymous in the second half.

    The team still feels characterless.

no but players are always slagging each other on the pitch, nothing in it unless he said something racist

I think the moaning is OK once it's in the context of being delighted with the win and going up the table. The tactics at the end were dreadful. Had moyes or vangaal did that we'd be going ballistic.

Hard to see Bailly react the way he did if it was nothing.

    That Traore lad looks decent.

Top 5 before the international break, it is all we could have asked for, anything else today is a bonus.

Can watch the rest of the matches relaxed now. Great stuff

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,737 ✭✭✭Hococop

hopefully a few of the lads have "light injuries" and cant head on international duties and rest up
