Everton winning is the best result for us. They are 6 points behind Liverpool on the same games. We'll have 3 games in hand on them after the final whistle of this game. If we are worried about Everton overtaking us then we may aswell give up now.

A lot of games this month and players getting injured when we need our squad mean results aren't a given.3 points are a must today,if we can't beat a WBA team that have been on cruise control we may as well throw our hat at it.

I'm sure by now everyone knows where to watch it.

Our injuries are once again freakishly unlucky considering the amount of important games we have coming up.

Martial to redosicover his best form
Rashford to start finishing decently chances again
Lingard to continue his good form
Mkhitaryan to hit a scoring/assist streak
Rojo/Bailly to cut out the errors and form an injury free solid partnership

We need some or all of the above to happen for us to have a positive end to the season. I would be shocked, genuinely shocked if we managed to beat Liverpool into 4th given who we have left to play compared to them.

The Europa is where all our eggs are now to have any chance at champions league, realistically speaking.

How are Everton always this crap against them?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,843 ✭✭✭GSPfan

If Mane hasn't torn ankle ligaments in that challenge i'll be surprised. Big loss for them if he goes out for a few weeks or months.

    Robles has been so bad!

We shoot straight at the keepers and they stop them,Origi did it and Robles got out of the way.

It's unreal how badly they do at Anfield. The goals they have conceded today have been so easy for Liverpool to score. Wouldn't be surprisd to see the game finish with another couple of Liverpool goals. Ross Barkley has been anonymous too. Lukaku not getting any support.

Aye and you'll see a different Everton against us. Hopefully the ref here sends a few of them off and makes it a bit easier for us.

Going to Old Trafford on Tuesday and that game is on TV. Of course the game today isn't televised, wish it was the other way around!

No Shaw in the squad again makes me sad.

Noticeably same scoreline for a home game this season.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,052 ✭✭✭ParkRunner

75% possession, 0 shots on target first half. Lingard probably the best out there for us with Carrick running the show in midfield.

And nothing decent been created from midfield without pogba.

I actually can not see anyway the team benefits without him been in it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,019 ✭✭✭✭adox

Decent first half without really creating too much.

Time wasting by WBA needs to be stamped out. A minute added to the half a joke.

Both Bailly and Rojo have been incredibly naive in their defending at times, giving away needless freekicks and handing set piece opportunities to West Brom. They need to cut that out or it will cost us.

Front three have been underwhelming. Lingard has been the best of the three. Rashford and Martial have been very underwhelming. I'd consider swapping Rashford and Martials positions at some stage.

Fellaini has been good in the middle and to a lesser degree Carrick.

Youngs crossing continues to be a total waste of time.

Agreed. Not much creativity in there without him.

Fellaini has been so far ahead of Carrick I'm amazed anyone could say that.

Agreed. Carrick looks a little rusty. Even from his first attempted pass a couple of minutes in you could tell he wasn't sharp. Misplaced a routine one. Hopefully sharpens up in the second half.

Yeah he's come into it a little bit as it went on but Fell is the man.

Fellaini and Lingard have been our two most promising on the field so far. Carrick and Young doing alright too. Martial's getting on the ball a bit, but the end product needs to be so much better.

Where's Mkhi? He's been very quiet so far.

It's all about being patient in this game. We'll not make a load of chances with how they're set up but if we get one they'll come out a bit and we can punish them then.

Rooney on around the 60 min mark?

Same. Only games that hold any interest now are the EL games.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,017 ✭✭✭sReq | uTeK

Well that was poor. We just lack sooooooo much imagination in our play and a clinical striker who gambles.

Lingards cross across the goal in the first half epitomised the inexperience of our forwards. I have no doubt had Zlatan been on the pitch he'd be in the right place.

Should start betting on draw or loss everytime we play at home in league.

    Europa league or **** season.

Really miss the leadership of Ibrahimovic. Carrick was very poor today. Fellaini and Lingard tried, and Rashford had an ok chance, but overall, very poor performance :(

Some people will say it was a brilliant goal keeping and defensive performance that prevented us scoring but it really wasn't. Our main tactic today was getting crosses into the box which was meat and drink for that West Brom defence. Foster had to make 3 saves, 2 of which were from 30 yard strikes.

We were impotent up front. No creativity in the team today. The league is a waste of time for us because we are unable to put lesser teams to the sword, particularly at OT.

Our entire season rests on the Europa league.

It's not even annoying anymore, it's just exhausting.

I'll also say, there was many who needed to step up in Ibra's absense and they really haven't...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 930 ✭✭✭aperture_nuig

No positives to take from today at all, very disappointing.

  • Sounds like we missed Pogba, he's created a lot of chances to be fair
    Il avoid motd now
    Disappointing but not that surprising

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,019 ✭✭✭✭adox

    It's pathetic at this stage.

Special mention for Dean who was utterly abysmal and indulged West Brom no end in their time wasting.

Miki was really poor and Rashford just looks so weak physically to be a main striker.

No matter what way you butter it up there is no other word than pathetic for drawing at home against the likes of West Brom and many others. It's an absolute stain on what has been a relatively positive season.

We have handed a top four place to one of our rivals this season.

We certainly didn't miss Pogba. He's been involved in numerous games like this.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,388 ✭✭✭✭Jayop

I said before the game that our forwards getting the ball and taking their men on was the tactic. We'd have had less possession but so what West Brom weren't going to score.

Every time one of them did take a man on we created something but it only happened about 5 times in the whole game. Why would you just cross it in with no chance of winning the headers?

Honestly don't understand the tactics in that game.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,006 ✭✭✭edgecutter

A lot of injuries, but we should be doing better. It seemed that our last roll of the dice was to keep crossing and that simply is bread and butter to WBA. When we moved the ball with pace we got at them a lot more, but that was a rarity.

Missed someone like Herrera if anything, was feck all drive forward from midfield.

That's top 4 gone too imo with our schedule. Europa League is the hope now
