Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. That would be a shame, Jayo, after all the effort you put into it! :D:p

I would love a win today but I'm not hopeful at all, Chelsea will be up for it after Spurs result yesterday.

Oooh I can feel the heat from that burn all the way out west.

Its called the material design match thread. It's minamilistic and easy on the eye.

Well if United still have 100% record when you create the match threads and we actually get a win today you can call it whatever you want :D

Don't mind me, I'm giddy due to all of the chocolate today!

Curtois has done his ankle in during training, so it's Begovic starting today.

I expect a world class preformance from him too :o

With the quality of our finishing I'd say they could keep a clean sheet with an empty goal.

Really interesting - thanks for sharing. Incredibly honest from Shaw, especially when he comments on taking his foot off the pedal at the start of the season when he was back playing again.

West Brom had several clear chances too. Shocking

It really doesn't matter whether Liverpool lose a few more matches or not. They already have top 4 in the bag IMO. At the end of the season we'll still be well off the points needed for top 4 because we aren't clinical enough to take advantage of other teams slip ups. Nothing I've seen in the past few weeks has made me think we're suddenly going to start putting teams away. Some of the team, particularly the younger attacking players seem to be wallowing a bit in self pity when the chances aren't going in for them.

All of our eggs are firmly nestled in the Europa League basket. We might not be able to put teams to the sword easily but we are very difficult to beat which will stand to our advantage in a cup.

I'd say a 1-1 draw today will be the most likely outcome for us today. both managers will have a "must not lose" approach to today's game.

We won't be allowed kick Hazard around the place again so he'll probably run the show.

Top 4 is gone anyway, just hoping we get through today without any injuries.

Awwwww crap. Sure that's our only game plan apparently.

Rumours going around that Zlatan isn't starting

Thursday night is more important this week.

    Definitely should rest players today

Rumours going around that Zlatan isn't starting

He said, in the Sunday Times, that he was really tired at the end of Thursday's game.

Ashley Young captain vs Chelsea :P:P

Makes sense to rest our two most dangerous front players ahead of a must win game on Thursday.

  • Yes I'm still disappointed
I don't care where we are in the table but we need to be trying to beat Chelsea at home regardless

    Where's martial?

Where's Martial? Not really bothered by Zlatan being on the bench to be honest but it would have been good to see Martial instead.

So Pogba playing further up the pitch? That's good

Really not bothered by a "weaker" team today tbh. We were going to get a bad result either way, so not bothered about focusing on EL. Chelsea are champions this season, so its a dead match to me.

Fellini captain and it's a 3 0 win locked up for us

Would have liked Shaw to play today. But I can see a classic backs to the wall Jose performance coming up. 0-0 is the result he'd take now I bet.

Disappointed he isn't getting a start.

Unless he intends starting him Thursday.

Unlikely considering he didn't last Thursday.

    Disappointed with that line up.
Jose throwing the towel in already for top 4 is underwhelming and very disappointing to me.

An underwhelming season overall that showed a lot of promise looks, like it's going to whimper out with the aid of the manager.

No travelling involved for the next game. It's not until Thursday.

    Disappointing.

An insult to Tottenham that team selection ffs.

    oh ye of little faith

When we win you'll all hail this as a master stroke...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,977 ✭✭✭TheDoctor

    Is it really?

United play Spurs in a few weeks and if we're still in the EL we'll again rotate so it all evens out.

Buildup to the match was getting excuses in early and seeing that lineup.....

No Shaw or Martial is poor also. His squad rotation this season has been atrocious.

Would have liked to see Martial up front. Rashford is in for a tough, tough day.

For a match at home, this could backfire spectacularly for him if this goes bad.

It's hard to believe that is a Man United team in a game like this

    No stand out quality

    Ha yeah right.

I'm disappointed in the line up but it's not exactly an under 21s selection.

****ing forum gets worse by the day.

    Ye boys are absolutely hilarious.

The preoccupation ye have with what Ferguson would have done is bizarre. The club has moved on, every damn near every united accepts that but ye can't.

Ye are after getting an excellent win against a dogged west brom team and a manager that has had the mockers one ye for years yet first port of call is in here.

The constant trope from ye is the obsession United fans have with LFC.

    Joke shop stuff.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,019 ✭✭✭✭adox

If Utd are to have a chance I think Lingard is going to be the key player.

In such a well structured unit like Chelsea he's the one that will find the pockets of space and commit players.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,843 ✭✭✭GSPfan

It's not our best team but it's not far off. A draw would be good. A win would be amazing. A loss is expected.

Jaysus don't overreact too much. I am just saying ye should have more faith. Things aren't that bad.
