Ha, no problem, couldn't have picked a worse account. Of all the accounts on boards, that is the one I least want to see.

He knew what he was doing. I got a yellow for it too ha

Valencia is a winger converted, Fosu Mensah is a center back who has filled in a couple of times. In Jose's on words, he likes specialists! I'll be surprised if we don't sign someone. Valencia is good player imo, however it shouldn't be a starter week in and week out

Isn't Mensah a midfielder, and very unproven?

I'm 99% sure he was signed as a defender, hes played midfield for the reserves a lot aswell but I think it was Paul McGuinness who said in an interview after a game I watched (about 2 years ago) he's primarily a centre back who has occasionally filled in at centre mid.

According to Bangkok he has shown that he is world class and will be our right back for years to come.

Jesus, those away kits are something else. Home one's alright but the other two are superb. Hope they're legit

When does the Chevrolet deal expire.
Really makes a sh## of the jersey.
Must be exasperating for the people designing them to have that plastered on them after all their hard work.

Apparently Dean Henderson has been called from loan because of a significant injury to a first team goalkeeper. Better not be de gea!!

Wasnt he recalled to be third choice keeper and to let Johnson out on loan.?

Is Reus still a central midfielder

    pinch of salt lads....

Timbo Fosu Monster was bought as a DCM, played Centre back and LVG put him at RB last season when we'd no other options.

But sure aren't all wide players failed central players according to a Mr J Carragher of Liverpudlian descent!!!!

He has shown more than enough at his age to prove he can play there. Spurs away last season he was fantastic even though we lost.

    This.

Isn't Sam with Villa or someone like that in the Championship!!

He's too old to be playing reserve matches etc so its doing no harm letting him out on loan for proper competitive game time. Assuming Romero goes in the summer you need one of Pereira or Johsnton having had some meaningful game time.

Reus has played majority of games this season through the middle

    Is he a CM?

Actually.. they way you are talking there makes it look as if he has played plenty of games this season when he only returned from injury in the middle of November(he has played 8 since then).. pretty sure the 4/5 matches that I have seen him play this season he started on the LW.. and I think he played up top in one of the CL games he played. So that's 5/6 out of 8.. where is your "majority" coming from

He hasn't. The few games he has played half have been from the left flank.

he is an attacking midfielder, can play any position behind the front man including cm.

So he's a central midfielder but he's an attacking midfielder who can play any position behind the front man....

Make up your mind... is he a swiss army knife too... given the amount of functions you claim he can do...

A central midfielder is a roy keane, michaeal carrick to me or maybe i'm just uneducated in my footballing knowledge

anyone playing behind the striker is an attacking player not a central midfielder...

He is a Left Winger who can play as a no 10 or a RW.. just because he can play there does not mean that he is one..

Now the piss take of you calling Reus a CM came about during the Vidal saga I believe.. I think you got confused and said Reus instead of Kroos as an alternative but because of who you are you have to knuckle down and state it as fact because you never believe that you are wrong. That's my take on it anyways. You can admit you are wrong in your opinion or that you made a genuine mistake.. people will hold your opinion higher if you didn't act the way you do.

Now that's not saying that you shouldn't be able to defend your opinion but more to do with admitting when proven wrong instead of doubling down.

He's a left forward/winger who sometimes plays through the middle as a striker or a 10. He is a center midfielder as much as Martial or Mkhitaryan. He's not a player who loves too tackle so don't think he would excel in that role

    So Leicester on Sunday.

Our best performance of the season came against them.

They are flirting with the relegation zone.

Draw or loss for us would not surprise me in the slightest.

Its at the stage that I'm more confident playing a "big" team than teams we should be beating.

Talking of jerseys, Shoot are selling a weird one that's listed as Manchester United 17/18 Away Jersey. Throwback to the 91/92 season away strip, haven't see it anywhere before.

If Chelsea beat Arsenal, you all be like "yay, a top 4 rival dropped 3 points"

    cue Vardy hat trick :D

  • Was wondering if we could revert back to a 2 man midfield
    Carrick / Pogba

Then play with two wingers (Martial / Rashford left, Miki Right) and then play both Mata & Ibra as #10 Striker respectively

I'm beginning to doubt this 3 man midfield, not enough penetration or width over the last month or so

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,948 ✭✭✭✭Mars Bar

It was Pereira who was injured. Knee ligament damage.

2 man mifield wont work for me anytime ive seen pogba in a two hes not been good for france or united. Carrick for me needs the extra midfielder there for him to work in the team.

i just dont think we have the midfielders at the club to play the two man.

with the width problem i think its more so our players who play in the wing positions love to come inside leaving it to the full backs to provide the width and the delivery from all our fullbacks has been terrible

You could call it a 442 but with those players I don't think they would play it as one.

We all know you dont need to tackle to play cm. Look at xavi, modric, iniesta. Anyway cm is just a name. Frank lampard was a cm but an attacking one. Kante is a cm but a defensive one.

Caught one bit on SSN where Jose was asked about transfers.

He said he knows his squad better now than he did 6 months ago. He prefers to concentrate on realistic targets and has identified what he believes to be realistic targets.

Said no point chasing impossible signings. All it does is wastes the clubs time and does nothing more than inflate the pockets of the player and his agent when they have a club like Man Utd after them. (ie Neymar, Bale, Ronaldo)

That argument isn't really valid anymore. We've made some of our biggest signings in recent years without CL - Di Maria, Pogba, Zlatan
