Young was on the bench v Hull. I think the plan was to play him then but the jones injury changed the plan. Nothing wrong with bringing him on today tbf. Martial will get games. He just has to get the head down and force his way into the team.

We win at 3pm and it puts Liverpool into 6th. Oh how I look forward to quoting all this hilarious 6th posts here and on Facebook.

Happy out with the finishing. Pogba did okay in the Carrick role.

1 point behind pool and 5 off 2nd...

Liverpool and spurs next week and we play Watford. A draw would be a lovely result. If we were to win we'd be 3 off spurs and ahead of pool.

The icing on the cake would be HULL beating Arsenal and we'd go 4th :)

Yeah after Young stayed he was going to get minutes in some of these games.

Great to see Bailly back in action. Mkhitaryan had one of his MOM performances which basically won us that game. Pogba and Herrera were decent after an initial terrible 20 mins.

3 points gained on the top 4. All things going smoothly, and other results helping, we should be ahead of Liverpool soon and Arsenal in the crosshairs after them.

I'm still not confident of us getting into the top 4 and staying there until the end of the season but today was a much better day.

Biggest away win since October 15, fackin hell.

    Pleased with that result.

We were never really under any pressure, Mikhi is savage, going to be such an important player for us.

    Bailly solid as a rock.

Valencia managed to get an assist.

We didn't need to get out of second gear all game and have a good rest before Watford.

    We won? We fúcking won!

    Never doubted it.

Great result. Follow it up with a win v Watford and it's looking good

  • The funny thing I find is that when Miki Ryan had a poor start to his United career, he didn't look like his face was slapped by a fish
His agent didn't moan to the public
No, he put his head down and showed Jose that he was willing to prove himself and work harder
We all know he's a fantastic talent technically before he signed but when the chips are down it's up to the player to fight
Martial is young and naive and needs some guidance, he should take look at Miki and learn from him

I'll celebrate when we move up a place. We have a serious problem with ****íng it up for ourselves.

Said it to a lad in work during the week about Miki. A lot of the time when he's running with the ball he looks like he is about to be caught but is very deceptive as he never quite seems to be. Even for the goal in the real time today I thought Morgan was in for the block but the ball was gone just before the tackle.
Time and time again I've seen it with him. Being chased down, looks like he's caught, but either pulls away a little again or releases the ball/shoots when it doesn't look like there's time. Pure class.

Ah Jaysus. Enjoy it when you can. On a great unbeaten run, we ****ed up a couple of chances to make ground, especially during the week but **** it we got handed a gift again this weekend and just won three nil.

That will have to kick start another string of premiership wins for us to be contending for top 4 come the end of the season.

I certainly wouldn't be lining out with a B team for our Europa League games.

We are two points off fourth. We are now right in the mix.
A string of premier league wins to be comtemeding come the end of the season may be overstating what's needed given our position.

Refused to get my hopes up today and look what happens..
This United team continue to fail to meet expectations😀

Nice to see Jose recognise something needed to change..
Should keep mixing it up now up front with the options there. Miki at 10, on the wing etc

    Next few league games...

    Watford H
    Bournemouth H
    Southampton A
    Boro A
    West Brom H
    Everton H
    Sunderland A
    Chelsea H

That's 7 very winnable games in a row. Hopefully Chelsea have the league wrapped up by the time we play them and have an easier run at them too.

Really need to get the points in these games because we have a prick of a run in.

You're right. I should have said "putting ourselves in a strong position" as opposed to merely contending.

I do believe we have to take advantage of this stretch of fixtures as our final run in is going to be thougher than others.

Only one more league game this month. Fixture pile up on the way.

    Lowered our goal difference to:
Liverpool by 5 goals now 7 GD
City by 2 goals now 5 GD
Arsenal by 5 goals, now 9 GD
GD to Spurs at 15 goals.

Southampton currently have very bad form, bet they will be decent by the time we play.

It's probably the trickiest one out of the next run of games. Could be a frustrating draw at home to West Brom too.

I enjoyed today I must say. Nice to be able to enjoy the last 40 minutes for a change. Did the Business and very happy overall.

Feet up now, missus is away so free house, off work tomorrow, watch MOTD and will watch Super Bowl. Takeaway and Cookie Dough for desert.

Oh come and come on the Falcons.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,424 ✭✭✭✭The_Kew_Tour

The only downside is I can't get that song fans are singing out of my head at minute:pac:

My first away match. Bloody hell the difference in atmosphere. Don't think we stopped singing for 90 minutes. Absolutely loved it and will definitely be doing it again!

    Delighted with the three points.

delighted with them 3 points. thought Valencia, Mkhitaryan were excellent, pobga had a very good game as well. love the fact that valencia keeps proving his doubters wrong as well, another excellent game today

Dont like the way Murhino is treating martial or Shaw. Martial should have come on after 60 mins for ibra. Cant see why Ibra is never taken off. We will lose two of the best prospects in Europe in the summer the way Murhino is treating them.

I hate when people make it sound as if Jose just took a disliking to them for no reason. There's very obviously reasons he's not playing them that we aren't 100% privy to. It looks like he didn't take kindly to Martial's agent stirring the pot (and we don't know if that's affected Martial's attitude too), and Shaw looks to have been involved with undermining Jose in the press early on in the season.

To me, if players aren't 110% committed to Jose, then regardless of age, value or potential, the door is there for them.

Great win and some other positives to take, but on that part about Valencia...

I've defended Valencia recently, but statements like that don't help yourself or your side of the debate.

He obviously hasn't been proving his doubters wrong, and didn't today either IMO. Apart from the assist, he played more or less the same as he has been playing as of late. That's fine with me as someone who thinks he's been doing grand, but today shouldn't do much to make the "doubters" think that he is suddenly much better.

Have to agree with you and from what I've seen of Martial & Shaw this season, both look like they need to pull their head out of their arse and knuckle down.

I agree with the first part, not sure that they are getting pushed out or just forced to work for it.

They get too much credit just because they are young and have potential. Shaw in particular has struggled since his big transfer, body and mind.

If they are going to play it is because they prove they deserve the chances to play. Getting sidelined this season could yet be the challenge (or break) they need.

I don't know where Valencia gets his energy from. Sprints up and down the entire right side for 90 minutes. Even in injury time today, he was sprinting on to an overlap, lost the ball and then tore after the Leicester player who got it. He's 31 too.
