Fair few potential banana skins in that lot but really we should be winning this thing outright if Jose takes it seriously, I think it's the poorest standard of Europa League for a few years, considering that the likes of Sevilla, Dortmund and Porto were all at large last season.

Damn I thought the Europa was gonna be harder to win than achieving top 4. It probably still is but on paper looking at the remaining teams, we have a great chance of winning this. Especially with our current form.

EFL and Europa in Jose's first season would be fantastic imo

That line up last night, 4 days before a final in a game we were already 3 up in tells you he'd be deadly serious.

Should win this now.

Fair few very beatable western european teams left in the tournament. Getting them in the draw would be a blessing. Really feel like winning the EL is no harder than getting top 4 right now.

While me might not be world beaters at the moment we have become a reasonably difficult team to beat and that's a great attribute have when it comes to knockout football.

Honestly I don't really care about the Champions League, and probably won't care about it until around this time next season.

I don't see the EL as a way of qualifying for something else. I'd love to win it just for what it is. A European trophy.

It will be hard to care about it if we are not in it next season!
No denying it's another trophy in the cabinet and a tough one to win but the availability of options from a CL perspective is something no other club in the league has as of yesterday.
Factor in that's it's probably the tightest CL run in in PL history.

The way I see it is that we have four European trophies in the history of the club (five if we include the super cup). The Europa League in and of itself is a great prize.

I would rather win that this season than qualify for the CL. Obviously if we get one we get the other but you know what I mean.

I think it actually devalues the competition a little bit because in truth most teams will be looking at it as a way to get into the CL, rather than wanting to get their hands on the actual trophy.

Of course, the competition had lost a lot its prestige anyway with the expansion of the CL before they introduced the CL qualification place.
