How to Download from YouTube?

So for someone technologically challenged is it possible?
We are taking a long flight and it would be really great to be able to download some youtube clips onto a laptop and / or Samsung S6 phone - is there a way it can be done without too much pain?:o

I would have said just use a Chrome extension but apparently Google have deleted all those that let you download Youtube, although they're perfectly happy to leave up hundreds of others that let you download their competitors like Dailymotion and Facebook...

Plenty of online options that will download them one video at a time aswell if you dont want to install an app:
