Hi I have a Lenovo b50-50 laptop which is only 6 months old and the pin in center of DC jack has broken off I have looked everywhere for DC jack only and can't find.Lenovo want me too purchase a new motherboard at a cost of 320 Euro which I think is crazy for a 5Euro part like a Jack has anyone else had this problem or any idea

No Ken that's not it but thanks for reply the b50-50 is soldered on to the motherboard I'll get o picture of it and try to post it

The reason Lenovo are suggesting that is repairs of soldered jacks often dont last too long. A hand solder cant match the dip process in the factory.

You can get the part for $5 but labour will be €80-120 if you cant do it yourself.

I take your point but Lenovo are not offering the option of the repair by not supplying you with a part number to purchase the jack for it as far as I can see from internet searches you can get jack only for all other models at a small cost so why not this machine. ??
