Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

City and Utd will both win tonight, and with the results last night, it will bring 5 clubs very close in the league.

Just make it a straight up 4-0 victory just so if City fail to win tonight we jump a place and finally have something to show for United's hard work over the past two months.

    I'm going for a 3-1 home win

    Line up something like...
    DeGea
    Val, Bailly, Smalling, Rojo
    carrick
    Herrera Pogba
    Young Mkhitaryan
    Ibra

Bailly won't be playing I think, went off injured in a reserve game Monday night. I'd say it'll be Mkhitaryan & Mata/Lingard either side of Ibra.

I thought Jose said in the presser that Young is playing and that Bailly was fine.

He only said he was selected for the squad.. he said Valencia Pogba and Ibra would be playing

    I think we will see

    DDG
    Valencia-jones-Rojo-Darmian
    Carrick
    Herrera Pogba
    Mkhi-Ibra-Rashford

He might swap Darmian and Rojo and bring Smalling into the middle

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,688 ✭✭✭Nailz

I'd have Jones ahead of Smalling on current form.

    Edit:

He said he was OK for the squad after taking a knock in the u23's. He only confirmed 3 players starting.. he said Valencia Pogba and Ibra will come back into the team

Shaw needs to play to get form, much better than Darmian. Hopefully he gets a run-out, even coming on if game is wrapped up, do him good.

City West Ham a better game for the neutrals. People are rightly sick of United Vs Hull lately.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,030 ✭✭✭Minderbinder

This could be another grind. Hull have definitely been looking more resilient with the new coach and it's just unfortunate for him that the fixture list has been so unkind. I think United to win 2-0 but I fancy Hull to get a win in their next game whoever that's against.

The last time Hull anything other than beat away form home in all comps was 10 games ago in the League Cup. The last time they won away in the league was aainst Swansea in August.

I know they've looked better lately, but really only at home so far.

I still don't see it being a high scoring game. United have been fairly shocking lately and even on their good days they need about 10 clear chances to score one goal. It's possible of course, but not probable. United have been good in some of the cups games because there is less pressure but in the league it's a grind.

Yeah the league scoring has dried up in January. December we went 9 goals in 5 games and January it was 4 in 4.

Still though, it's Hull at home and I'm going for a 3-1

Mata should be on instead of Herrera. Hasn't done much lately . Especially offensively.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,026 ✭✭✭duffman13

Lots of possession but feck all in the box, feels a bit unbalanced tonight. Everything is very pedestrian

  • Best described as sloppy so far
    Frustrating
    No end product

    *edit
    Second yellow surely fs ref

Naisse lucky but the first was very soft.

Is it just me or does Rashers look completely off the pace?

    2nd yellow red

Seems to be looking for the early ball a lot and it's being held up constantly so he looks like he's on his heels, needs it earlier to have a go at Meyler with a bit of pitch in front of him
