Yes, I enjoyed tonight's so much more than last week's!

I loved Rosalind's fireplace, although the uniform green was a bit much - she's so artistic!

I thought Claire was skating on very thin ice with hers, it was very basic compared to all the others. But it matched her shirt very well!

Delighted to see Matt do so well, and he was so downbeat and modest about it! I'm not sure I'd like his fireplace in my sitting room for ever more, but it was brilliantly imagined and executed.

Right person went, for sure - had been sailing close to the wind for a few weeks now, with the same sort of comments from the judges - and for sure, they were right when they said if you go for a mathematical theme, you need to be precisely precise, you can't just slap it together, which is what he looked like he was doing in the end!

Loved tonight again and have grown fond of them all .I think Claire really was lucky to get through as the she did not follow the brief at all .Others put huge effort into the raised detail .
Delighted for Matt and he well deserved the praise . Rosalind is so talented and I love what she produces with very little effort , its gorgeous .

I just cannot warm to Matt at all not sure why.

Claire had a really bad week, but she is so so talented so hopefully next week is an improvement. Would love to see her or Jacob winning it. Right person went for me this week.

It's a really excellent series so far.

Finally caught up on the last 2 episodes - willies and boobs WTH!!! :)
Anyway would like Jacob to win but I can see Rosalind creeping up even though she could have gone home a couple of times.
Right person definitely went but I did love them - always so funny

Either can I, he comes across smug I think.

Ah, I don't think he's smug really (he certainly wasn't smug last week doing the statue!!!)

Just a more low-key personality than some of the others I think - I can't say I've warmed to him exactly, but I don't dislike him either, I'd take him over some of the others who left in earlier rounds any day!

I agree it's been an excellent seriers - except for that statues round!

    !

His struggle there made my inner b1tch very happy :)

I think at the start he was very flirty lots of double meanings with Melinda, that gave me the impression that he loved himself. That said, it has been toned down lately.

    Another amazing week from claire.

Skin of his teeth job from Jacob, I think his past performance saved him to be honest.

It was a tough week, all were very strong.

I still hope Jacob gets it, but I do think Claire is the most consistent and strongest contestant, so it's really hers to lose.

    Omg what a week!

Really thought matt was going to get Potter of the week as he was so meticulous and did well in the spot challenge. I didn't really like his loo, but he had the smoothist build. Though wouldn't like the handle between my legs, a weird thought process there.

Was absolutely shocked and delighted for Jacob, I liked his loo, but with the cracks etc I thought he might be gone.

Rosa's design was lovely but it lacked sharpness and finish.

Claire oh dear, if it could go wrong it did. I think the shape of the loo would have worked if she also changed the glaze design. It was so clumsy. Such a shame!

I'd say some poor unfortunate had the job of quality control before he went near them :D

I couldn't believe Claire made that big a bags of it in the bloody semi-final!

It was so hers to lose, and she blew it. I'd say she'll be kicking herself from here to kingdom come for a long time!

Matt's loo, while it was always going to beat Claire's given her structural problems, was just plain odd, and not very attractively decorated. Seriously meh.

I'm rooting for Jacob now, I hope he can pull it off in the final. His mushroom loo was great, although I thought being able to plonk a fabric mushroom cover on the lid was taking a few liberties too far....

I've been rooting for him since the start. I really thought he was going last night, he had a fair few cracks. Came last in the spot challenge etc. I agree the fabric cover was hilariously bad.

Claire must have spent a ridiculous amount of time fixing hers. That was the second challenge she made a bags of, her tiles weren't great either, just not the worst.

I never warmed to rosa but I do think artistically she's very good, but she needs to work on her finish. I'm not sure if she'll handle the pressure well as she can get abit flustered.

I really hope matt doesn't win, though he'll have everything planned to the last millimetre.

Would love Jacob to win...and if not him Rosa I find her hilarious the way she said toilet lol.

Gutted for Claire she had a bad couple of weeks but she is so talented

Matt I just never warmed to him at all

Have to say I really liked matts designs, the back to front pour on the teapot and the milk jug spouts were very imaginative... Still delighted he didn't win :)

Jacob's was so disappointing. I've an old nescafe coffee set and Jacob's reminded me of that, with a dragon stuck on. The red glaze was too harsh.

Rosa's was gorgeous, loved the Cheshire cat, and the Queen of hearts was lovely. It was a challenge that really suited to her.

I actually think Claire would have done very poorly in this challenge as she didn't really do well in imaginative sculpturey type challenges.

    Really enjoyed this season.

Agree with all of the above - I thought Rosa was a well deserved winner on the day. They all did great teasets -

Once again Jacob's sculpture was amazing, but did it cost him too much time in the end?

Matt's was super-clever, especially the jug and teapot (I never really figured out how the cups worked!), but his show-stopping cakestand was a disaster, missing the most important bit of the whole set IMO (Alice disappearing down the hole). I was really surprised at his bowls effort in the middle section - he just basically threw anything up on the plank, like he didn't care - and for a fella who specialises in throwing, that was a bit shabby to say the least.

Rosa's set was amazing - every time through the whole series, I looked at her doing the sculpting, thinking "that looks a bit feeble" but once she'd painted it up it brought it totally to life! (And having done a small bit of pottery once upon a time, painting with glazes and oxides that bear ABSOLUTELY NO resemblance to their final colour is a dark art and I'm in total awe of those potters for their final results!!!)

Pottery over. Dancng on Ice over. What am I going to do for entertainment now??? Masterchef and a bit of SU2C Bakeoff will have to do me until the clocks change - bring on the bright evenngs!!!

    Really enjoyed this season.
Spot on agree with all of this.
Claire was excellent but that challenge was so delicate it wouldn't have suited her at all.

That tea set from Rosa! Wow amazing the detail and execution brilliant.
Talk about peaking at the right time!

Am I thick...is there a dragon in Alice in wonderland? Jacobs wasn't for me as much as I liked him.

Matt had some brilliant ideas, would I want to use the set...nope, and his cake stand didn't work at all.

Brilliant series really lovely, much prefer if to bake off. Everyone involved is so warm, Mel Sykes is a great fit, Sue Pryke tougher but fair.
    I love love love Keith.
Keith cry much more meaningful than any Hollywood handshake!

It wasn't a dragon, it was the Jabberwock!

I love Sue, esp her style, she's always so elegant.

Mel I could live without tbh, she's a bit fawny for my liking. Much preferred Sarah.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,925 ✭✭✭Princess Calla

Yeah he said he was basing it on Tim burtons version, jabberwocky.

    Heidi beat me :D

That's going on record for when it's a quiet telly night (Monday night is TV overload in this house!)

Bonus is the lovely Sara Cox will be on it (won't she? Did she do it from the start?)

Just saw trailer for new season.
I see it's on channel 4 now? Was it not on more4 before? (Then BBC before that)

I might be in minority but I liked Melanie Sykes, main thing is Keith Jones is back!

Ooh, as well as the new host, I didn't realise the judges have changed as well!

Well, one has - the lady judge (whose name escapes me but I just loved her dress sense!) is gone, and the delectable kiln man (whose name also escapes me, even though I've just read it) is taking over.

    Interesting!!
