I figured this is place to ask; does anyone have any good recipes for homemade breakfast / energy bars?

I like the GCN energy bar recipe below - i swap the oil for butter though and don't add peanut butter (as peanut butter is rank). Just make sure they're really cool before cutting up or they'll break up. Hardest thing after that is to try and save them for spins, as they're lovely!

Wyldsson do some nice pre mixes that you cook at home, you mix up 2 bananas, an egg some almond or peanut butter, stir in the pre mix and bake, works really well, once you maake a batch up they keep well in the fridge or freezer.

    Alpen
    Jumbo porridge oats
    Golden syrup
    Brown sugar
    Butter
    Dash of ginger.
The measurements are open to manipulation if you like your bars chewy/crunchy or with/without the alpen fruit and nuts. Just make sure to line your tin with greaseproof paper.

Google ANZAC cookie. Very handy recipe.
For added extra just put a handful of your favourite Nuts and Seeds.(A quick blast in the food processor).
They are not as dry as your average Breakfast Bar which makes them easier to eat

These also work well from the freezer

I made these a few times, Furlongs Famish Busters, after cooking individually wrap them in tin foil and keep in the freezer, chuck a couple in your back pocket and by the time you are hungry they are defrosted and ready to eat. Would highly recommend the recipe and ingredients can be sourced cheap in your local lidl or aldi.
