Jacket for touring

I'm looking for advice on a jacket for touring. I've tried a few they are either useless in heavy downpours or have useless breathability. I need something with pockets that's not really tight.something I can layer up as needed. I'd also like to be able to wear it off the bike .but a standard hiking jacket is fairly useless on the bike. I guess im looking at goretex but what make. Weight is not really an issue . I tend to camp when touring.

I don't have that one. I'd love to have that one for the mtb but to pricey for my liking despite the reviews.

Endura have similar and cheaper ones where the hood folds into the collar.

All off the mtb jackets will be looser and more breathable. From your description it sounds like a mtb type jacket is what you want. The road type are generally tighter fitting and the summer ones tend to be lighter to pack away easily.

The hood on this one will obviously create a drag but are you touring or racing?

I don't mtb much. never really thought about mtb jackets kind of outside my radar. They are pricey but look the business. Just not used to having a hood while cycling I guess. I'd be good off the bike...

The Endura Single Track is decent as well, never tried in a very heavy downpour, but on strong rain it was grand.

There is a zipper under the arms that helps to regulate the temperature, and the build up of sweat inside the jacket.
