Leeds favourites for the playoffs, well I have to say that is surprising, they are looking goosed and out of ideas.

Villa should be worthy favs imo, anyway let’s hope the bookies get it wrong.

The bookies are probably basing it on Villa's proven track record of maximum heartbreak to the fans. I think the Villa fans' motto is "Hope for the best, prepare for the worst". Murphy was probably a villa fan.

“Tammy has damaged his shoulder,” Smith told club TV.

“He’s had a scan on it. There’s nothing displaced with it, I don’t believe. There’s nothing damaged. He probably won’t be ready for Leeds. But he will be back before the end, that’s for sure.”

    fantastic!
need everybody for this final push

Jack and Tammy make the PFA Championship Team of the Year. McGinn very unlucky to miss out, along with Buendia of Norwich.

I’d imagine Leeds being favourites is partly down to us likely having a tougher semifinal

Still very skewed I think Leeds 1.9 villa 4.2

Wonder how Leeds will approach this game now, after Sheff Utd's win they're effectively out of automatic promotion now.

So will it be a back lash, a depressed collapse, rest players, try lay down a marker, use it as test match for possible promotion final for them.

I can see them being a bit fragile, and worried about Villa's current charge. If we can make it 11 out of 11, going towards playoffs, it'll have a big psychological effect on opponents

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,657 ✭✭✭✭CSF

If I was Smith, I’d rest anyone who he feels could do with it for this one.

Imagine letting Grealish get injured in a game like this.

Very Attacking team - McGinn, Hourihane, Grealish, Green...

But bench is very defensive - only Adomah is an attacking option. Where's Davis? Whelan, Jedinak, Bjarnason unlikely to change a game much (although Whelan in great form) - unless Hutton is expected to score another worldy

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,657 ✭✭✭✭CSF

I'm much more nervous about the idea of someone getting injured today, than I am about the result.

No striker on the bench? Wheres Davis?

Based on how we started Mings goes up top if we need to make the change

Someone was saying on Reddit recently that might be able to bring Hogan back for the playoffs if we need another striker

Jaysus, he can stay where he is. Would need 3 striker injuries before he gets a run. Imagine getting promoted twice in the space of a fortnight though.

Calm down McGinn. Don't get a yellow

Good to see Kodjia looking up for it. Too many starts where he hasn't.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,247 ✭✭✭Esse85

Ming's has been sensational with his feet.

Axel needs games having been out so long.

Green and El Gazhi have been busy but lacked the end product.

My worry is Leeds will get ill-disciplined and target Jack and McGinn in the second half.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,850 ✭✭✭Panrich

This would be a great game for Davis.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,014 ✭✭✭✭Corholio

    Ah Kodj! Should have scored.

Me too, because that is what they have spent alot of the 55 minutes at already.

Get Whelan on now. We're starting to lose midfield since they brought on Roberts

    Adomah is on.

    He's better defensively than Green.

Did Lansbury get a winner for us here previously?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,559 ✭✭✭LeBash

Why is anyone bar Hourihane taking set pieces? They've been brutal.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,014 ✭✭✭✭Corholio

    Leeds are a disgrace.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,141 ✭✭✭✭listermint

    Fk sake..Leeds you dirty bellends

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,657 ✭✭✭✭CSF

Fair play for letting us get one back

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,141 ✭✭✭✭listermint

    Where's kodja gone and why

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,014 ✭✭✭✭Corholio

    Brilliant finish from Adomah! :P.

Fair play Bielsa, even if he looks annoyed about it.

The El Ghazi red is ridiculous, doesn't touch Bamford either. Hopefully it will be.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,247 ✭✭✭Esse85

Absolute scum from Leeds, typical, I'm not surprised, horrible club. I sincerely hope they don't get promoted.

Bamford should be banned for 3 games.

    Take McGinn off FFS

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,518 ✭✭✭matrim

**** sake. El gazhi red for a dive by bamford

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,797 ✭✭✭✭JPA

    McGinn booked.
This game should have been a training game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,247 ✭✭✭Esse85

You could see it kicking off at the end too.

Both managers be well advised to keep their players away from anything

Bamford should be banned for pretending to get hit and getting El Ghazi sent off. It looks worse the more you watch it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,518 ✭✭✭matrim

    Hopefully steer is ok

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,797 ✭✭✭✭JPA

Kodija injured, now Steer injured, El Ghazi red card.
    Bit disasterous.

Hogan could be needed for the playoffs depending on the injury to Kodjia.

    Hopefully Steer is ok too.

Mings is an absolute sculpted monster, see the physique on him there at the end.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,014 ✭✭✭✭Corholio

Have to watch what we say here, Conor74 is writing in his little notebook :P.

Good game though. Thought Villa were comfortable enough before the goal, mostly long range shots from Leeds. Don't think the team were at full tilt today really either, understandably and with a different striker up front.

Have to say fair play to Bielsa in the middle of that to instruct his players to do the right thing.

Don't think Villa fans should be rising to that lad.

It was bad alright. Saw Hourihane on the ground as well holding his face. Anyone see what's happened there?
