Trying to stick and it's 1.1c.... Looks like 250m is around about the minimum level for a shot at sticking snow so.

We are close to the coast though. Between Roundwood and Newtownmountkennedy. Could be snowing at lower levels further inland like West Dublin and Kildare.

Snizzle in East Meath, weirdly the wind feels far more northerly than easterly.

The wind is swinging round to the north with the arrival of the rain here and will likely go NE and warm up further when it does so.

Dublin airport reporting light sleet at 10:30 and 11:00.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,236 ✭✭✭highdef

Radar shows a small blob of moderate intensity heading for the ashbourne area. This area has a little bit of elevation and is a little bit inland so will be interesting to hear reports from there in the twenty or thirty minutes. Might give a general indication as to what many others can expect.

That the upper temps (at around cloud level or slightly above) are warming, but still remain below zero, which may hint that any snow may need to be intensity driven later for lower ground. Depends though if temps nearer the surface will play ball, and this would be more likely away from the extreme coastal fringes.
