    Hi all,

golf insurance isn't included in my club membership so I have to arrange it myself.

Anyone got any particular recommendations? Are the policies pretty much all the same? Is there a provider affiliated to or who sponsors Boarde.ie events who I should be giving the business to?

I too am looking for golf insurance for just myself. Are there any companies offering this?

Get your club to contact an insurance company, one person will probably have to pay a large amount, but they would probably do a deal for the club. Anyone who wants it can then pay.
€20 seems to the the normal rate, it's voluntary in my club but the vast majority go for it.

How about AIG as they are splashed across your GUI card, did you contact them? I think Golfsure are the specialists in this area, but maybe ask the GUI who they recommend.

Its unusual that golf insurance is not offered or noted in any way by your club, I wonder could it expose them to some risk if they knowingly organise competitions where they will have uninsured golfers playing (the risk is being seen as a contributory factor in the golfer not being insured) ??

Let us know how you get on.

Caitlyn XL is the underwriter for personal golf insurance, not sure which broker.

Cost is usually 24 per person through a discount scheme through your own club, if buying it personally it might be more expensive.

Slightly off topic, but I've heard friends say if your car is stolen or broken into and your clubs are the car, your golf club insurance will cover your clubs? Is this the case with most insurances because I've not seen any policy documents

I was going to purchase golf insurance only to find (to my surprise) my house insurance covers me for personal liability if I hit someone with a golf ball. That was my main concern. Golf clubs I have to name as extras to cover.

If you have a Golfsure car insurance policy via your GUI with AIG your golf clubs are covered if stolen from the locked boot of you car...
