Are you accusing the NTMA of not actually awarding those prizes?

    What prizes?

Doesnt seem like anybody has ever won them.

Can you suggest another quick access capital guaranteed investment for that volume of cash that doesn't actually have a negative interest rate?

so you consider winning the occasional 50 euro note on a multi-thousand euro tranche to be an actual investment? Not forgetting of course that most people,in their greed hang on to their bonds for years as inflation gradually chips away at the value of their "investment".

There is no interest on any savings now really, unless you are NOT risk averse.

At least PBs give you the option of cashing them in in drips and drabs if you want to. And the chance of a win. Nothing is guaranteed though, it is a draw.

But I (with cynical hat on) often wondered how the draw works. Is it a computerised algorithm or in an office with people watching and veryifying or what. All very vague.

Better in PBs though, than having it sitting in a bank somewhere for them to lend it to others and make money from you! That's just my opinion of course.

The 1m prizes exist. The winning bond numbers are published. You not knowing someone who has won them does not mean they not exist.

It has been explained in detail why you may know of a lotto winner and not a prize bond winner.

So you can't provide one then?

They provide a capital guaranteed near-instant-access (after the initial period) indefinite period investment. Most banks currently have negative interest on those.

Anyone who wants capital guaranteed investments is aware of inflation, but inflation has been negligible for a decade.

Who scrutinises the draws? Simple question.

The draw is done by a company who have zero care about who wins as they're paid an operational fee. The winners are paid out - NTMA accounts can confirm this.

It is not a scam, it is not a rip off, and this forum is not for conspiracy theories. If you don't want to buy them - don't.

    Thread is long since done.
