Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi guys thinking about buying the above car and have been on the net all day researching. Lots of posts about engine trouble..burning oil etc. Apparently the newer engine 05 on are worse than the older 03 engined cars. Anybody here help me out with advice please

It's the same engine from the Ford Mondeo from the same era. Some of them have been known to be troublesome while others haven't given a day's bother. Your talking 12 to 14 year old cars here so a lot may depend on the history of the particular car your looking at too. Watch out for rust too as apparently it's a problem on these cars.

I'm surprised there's been any on the roads for at least 5 years at the alleged rate of rusting! ;) :pac:

Just on personal preference I'd get the 2.0 petrol engine. It has a bit more gumption and is only marginally less economical.

We had a 03 1.8 petrol for 10 years. More than 100,000 trouble free miles driven. Mostly serviced at home and never had any problems.
