Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Kolasinac on Holding off. Flat back 4 now?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,475 ✭✭✭KaiserGunner

What a terrible half. I'm not going to be a hypocrite though as I really don't care about the Europa League. However ya would expect the fringe players to be trying to stake a claim in this side.

I do think Wenger is being unfair to Maitland-Niles and Iwobi by playing them out of position. You can ruin young players by doing that. Walcott has been anonymous again, he really is an awful player. Holding has been poor again, not the first time this season and could probably do with a few weeks out of the first team.

One positive so far. The empty seats. Maybe the yankee sh1tedonkey will get the message?

Was hoping to hear the F*** off Stan Kronke songs tonight.

Ha, do you actually think he's watching?

He doesn't even know we're playing tonight.

    Are we gone 4-4-2?

Walcott like the boy who cried wolf there. Offside so often, he'll get given even when he's not.

Problem is tonight was a sell out!

Holding off will be a while before we see him again I reckon

The lad needs proper coaching and he won't get that at Arsenal. He could be a great centre half - really excellent but he needs direction. Hauling him off at half time will do nothing but damage his confidence and set him back. You'd have to wonder why young lads even consider joining Arsenal.

Great goal Kolasinac - he's really looking like a proper excellent signing

Sanchez is playing muck tonight. Loose passes all over.

    Great effort from Iwobi.

Are you looking at the same game as me?

You probably say Holding making a few needless forays forward, I saw his team mates not offering the simple pass.

You probably saw Holding misplace a few forward passes, I saw his team mates checking their run at the last minute.

You probably saw Holding busting a gut to get back in position, I saw the two players in front of him abandoning the space they were responsible for and leaving far too much territory for one man to cover.

There's more than one way to read the game.... Arsenal have a lot of problems tonight, Holding was the least of them.

Why are Arsenal not taking the EL seriously? They're so far off challenging for the CL, surely this is a chance for European silverware?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,456 ✭✭✭wonga77

Sanchez doesnt look too bothered tonight

It's a mickey mouse cup tho. it equates to the Charity shield or League Cup. Nice to win it if ya do, but it shouldn't even be listed on wikipedia as a trophy.

Chelsea on Sunday more important than this match.

Jaysus Maitland-Niles should've done a bit better there.

    Wilshere about to come on.

    Oooooooo Sanchez

    About time he done something

Sanchez doing what he does. Plays like rubbish, then pulls that out.

Essentially yes, it's the FC Köln Hymne. You'll hear it done properly in the next leg.

+1. Should never have been sent away in the first place

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,306 ✭✭✭sonic85

    Game over now anyway

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,692 ✭✭✭emmetlego

There's a huge nervousness to the play tonight. Some of the passing doesn't't have the conviction it should have, passes where players have had to check their runs because the passer didn't have the confidence to put it out there. That said, the 2nd half has been far better than the 1st.

Great to see Jack back. Like him it must be said.

    3-1 now. Well done Hector.

It was his choice though I think? When he wasn't in the England squad in Sep '16 he went to Bournemouth for more first team opportunities. I think Arsenal were happy for him to stay, but he wanted to go on loan.

Is that how it went? Honestly I can't remember!

Doesn't really matter I'd always have him in or around the first team when he's fit and healthy. Hasn't hit the heights I thought he would when he first broke through but I still have a lot of time for him. I'd rate him above a lot of our midfield options at the minute anyway

    Very enjoyable 2nd half!
