Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

A lot of players sliding over

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,694 ✭✭✭emmetlego

7 minutes in, it's defo a 3 man central defence. Interesting. Also interesting, Ozil tracking back. Early crosses to a big centre forward too. What's all this about?

Could it be someone grasping at straws to try and save himself. You'd have to ask why we're only seeing this now.

They over water the surface. We had 3 players on the ground at the same time a few mins ago.

Giroud was definitely fouled there. Sick of the constant bad refs we seem to get.

Not watching, stats say 6 shots to nil for Boro. Accurate?

    Yea. 70:30 possession too.

so you can expect us to go one down any second now

Their shots were not threatening and from distance.
We have 70% possession but rarely threatened either.

boro had the ball in the net but was well offside , giroud should have had a peno for being held in the box . nothing much else so far

Ox is definitely our most threatening player so far. Amazing how quiet Özil and Sanchez are lately.

And Sanchez gets the ball in our half and can't complete a simple pass to a teammate....

We need to get a bit busy before this game passes us by. No urgency at all.

What a goal. Nice one, Sanchez.

Lovely cross for that goal. Kos was poor.

    Who lost the ball?

Sanchez is so frustrating. Turns attacking play from us into a break for them and a goal. Sure, we should have stopped it, but it should have never been given to them in the first place.

I know Sanchez got a decent free, but hes been oblivious tonight

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 52,408 ✭✭✭✭tayto lover

3 or 4 we have shyte defenders.
Sanchez gave the ball away initially too.

Laurel and Hardy inspired defensive play! Farcical.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 52,408 ✭✭✭✭tayto lover

Gabriel tried to trip the attacker there but luckily missed. He's already on a yellow. Very stupid.

For a team that was booed off against Palace we're not showing any urgency at all. Awful football, poor passing and no penetration.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,694 ✭✭✭emmetlego

One positive. The away supporters haven't stopped supporting all night. Credit to them, despite the tripe being dished up!

get elneny on for Ramsey hes invisible , and Theo on for anyone but the Ox

The might of Stewart Downing is proving too much for us. Stewart. Downing.

This is not enjoyable to watch at all. Sure, the conditions look pretty poor, but we have no ideas.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,694 ✭✭✭emmetlego

Alexis. 5 times in a row, kicks the ball to a Boro player, all within 10 yards of him. Sublime to sh!t in a few seconds. His high risk game is not what we need right now. We are pressing well now. Ramsey the odd man out. Pure muck.

Why are we afraid to pass the ball to Giroud?

Fantastic play. Sanchez to Ramsey to özil. Great goal.

    Simple little goal.
Sanchez had a hand in both even though his passing has been rubbish tonight.

I liked everything about that goal.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,694 ✭✭✭emmetlego

Ridiculous thing to do chesting it to him, but brilliant idea, love Ozil. I'd keep him ahead of Alexis all day long if it came down to a choice!

Monreal is under rated , fantastic crosser and good at both going forward and tracking back . Sure he fcuked up a few times but who hasnt in the squad ? LB isnt our strongest part of the pitch since cashley coles days

Monreal is a hard worker. I wouldn't call him a fantastic crosser. Ok at best.

Glad we got there in the end. Far from comfortable, though.

A few hard games coming up so i'd say Wenger will make his announcement tomorrow. He will struggle to get a better time to do it.

As the commentator said "It's job done".

Delighted to get the three points and I'm glad Arsene tried something new with the formation change.

    Is it City next weekend?

Meh... 2 nice goals, Ox played well and Holding looked promising but all pretty underwhelming.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,694 ✭✭✭emmetlego

Look what the Ozil goal meant to Monreal... He was ecstatic and great to see. Reckon he's a keeper!

Agreed, Boro had their chances too and could have scored a few themselves. Ox and Holding were very good, Alexis free kick was world class. Both Kos, Monreal and Gab looked dodgy in the 2nd half. Giroud was non existent. But a win's a win. Let's see what happens in the next three games before we see if they turned a corner.

Ox worked his socks off. Nice to see.

A real weight looked to have lifted off the players there at the end. You could really see how happy they all were

Id have to credit Wenger for at least changing things around for once but i cant fathom why he didnt do it earlier.

Agree it's the first time he went 3 at the back since 1997. Twenty years.
I wonder if Mustafi was injured and Bellerin lacking in confidence after the booing against Palace?

Wouldn't exactly call the tactical change a success this time either, Boro could have had three goals tonight. Monreal and Gab looking very very shaky at times. Good to get an away win under the belt though.

ah yeah either would i, but at the very least its good that Wenger was willing to shuffle things around. Too little, too late though. We need fresh thinking.
