Just musing, have a few ideas, maybe we could narrow it down by asking if he died before or after 1960. Then maybe narrow down the first letter of his surname. Any other ideas guys?

agree on asking if he died before 1960 or maybe if he died younger than a certain age if you think it was someone who dies young . asking the first letter of surname could waste a lot of questions unless you are confident you know who it is . have you someone in mind

That's one of our go to questions. Usually comes in handy knowing the answer if we get to #18-20.

how is it asked ? surely its not

Q1 : Does his surname begine with A

Q2: Does his surname begine with B

Q3: Does his surname begine with C

Q4: Does his surname begine with D

Q5: Does his surname begine with E

Etc etc ??

i assume you have someone in mind before asking

We would ask if the aurname begins with a letter in first half of alphabet, potentially illiminating half the candidates. Then could narrow it by another half later if necessary.
