    Titanic and Hindenberg and Apollo 11 (say) are all specific things though.

    It's probably more akin to something like "a Boeing 747" or "a black cab".

    okay, we know its used in transport, but not if flying, wheeled, or bouyant etc. maybe we can narrow that down.

    Could be concorde.

    Lets see how it gets around.

    Does/did it travel by air?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,480 ✭✭✭Chancer3001

    8-yes

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,404 ✭✭✭✭sKeith

    Nice, flight.

    top speed or range might be useful to narrow it down next.

    not early flight, as needs to be larger than elephant.

    sub mach would rule out concorde, but not much else bigger than elephant.
    range mightn't be much better.

    concorde = 7,250 km
    747 range = 13,450 km
    a330 = 13,400 km
    a380 = 15,200 km

    range above 8000 km rules out every helicopter and concorde and settles us on intercontinental planes

    Any questions?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,404 ✭✭✭✭sKeith

    Sure,
    Has or did it have a maximum flight range above or equal to 8000 kilometers.

    So its a jumbo jet of some sort. Being specific, could it be air force one? Of course that is just a call signal, not realy the name of a thing.

    Have we ruled out space shuttles?

    Are there any missiles with that range (though it might be a bit far fetched to say it transports a warhead)
