soundtrack pro 3 freezing

hi i have soundtrack pro 3 and it freezes after you try to play a track of any size or length. i am using seirra on a mac pro 13 standard. it worked ok after i went back to it after a few years. i deleted files like the google search say, no good. i was going to reinstall but i may loose a compressor software. any ideas?
