Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I was driving through Derry yesterday and they've election posters up for the assembly elections.

One of the posters was for a "people before profit" candidate.

What a mad name for a party. Only really thought of it yesterday. Could only think of Oliver Callan and People before prosperity.

Don't really know much about them but what is "people before profit"?

    What does it actually mean?

    It means nothing.

They target the uneducated people in society who want to believe that such parties are their saviours.

Considering that there is little to no chance of such parties being in power, they can promise the earth, moon and stars knowing that they will never have to deliver.

Sinn Fein used to be very much of the same ilk, but with the power sharing in NI and potential coalition in Republic in the next 10 years, they have had to roll back on some of the crazier policies they used to have.

    Mod note:

Not really much substance to this thread so Im closing it
OP, if you want to actually find out their policies Im sure they have lots of web presence that you can google.

If the purpose of the thread is to ridicule their name, its not really serious political discussion.
