Our club VCB were out for out usual sun am spin and after coffee went safely home to our families. Thats what we all expect to happen and what should.
Dreadful news about a young woman only really starting her life.
Sincerest condolences to her family and friends and tonight am thinking of her clubmates who were with her at the time.
We are all family on the road, look after yourselves.
    RIP
    This,
While we were battling a headwind or having a laugh over coffee someone' life has been creully ended.
    Deeply saddening.

This really hit me. We were just back and having coffee at about the time of the accident. Horrible.

RIP. Thoughts are with the victim's family and all those involved. In particular feel for the fellow club mates, as a former Orwell member myself.

Have passed the Orwell groups in Kildare before or met them in the Phoenix Park before spins. My heart goes out to her family friends and club mates. The path ahead is a long one for them I think they can be assured we're all thinking of them and here to support them in any way we can.

Girl named and pictured in below link.

Unfortunately this went from a breaking news story, to a phonecall from my daughter to say her friend was killed.
She took up cycling only a few years ago and it transformed her life , so much so she had just booked a cycling holiday abroad later this year the day before .
Condolences to all close to her . RIP

Awful news, had a look at the Orwell site, some 3 to 4 weeks ago they set in motion to have a talk on Monday 20th , the topic being "cyclist down" can only imagine the sombre atmosphere at that, whenever it does go ahead. Terrible loss to all involved.

Awful news. It's almost 4 years to the day since one of my clubmates was killed when out riding. The death of a clubmate in an accident like this really knocks you back both as a club and as a rider. I haven't been the same on the road since. I've also seen at first hand the devastation such a death causes to a family. Her family and her friends and her club will need to support each other. It's a horrible situation.

Shocking news to hear yesterday. RIP to the poor woman and my sympathy to her family and club mates. I always found the Orwell members a great bunch of lads when I would meet them on sportives and the Orwell Randonee is one of my favorite events. They have a huge female membership aswell. My thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by it.

RIP - we all head out on a weekend morning looking forward to catching up with club mates and enjoying the lovely country side Ireland has to offer ... this tragic and heartbreaking scenario never enters our head, extremely sobering.

    touching tribute from Orwell wheelers
