Hope someone in the know can help on this, my son who has a medical condition an has difficulty getting in an out of my car, I need to get the front seat adjusted for him to get in an out more comfortably. Financially I'm not in a position to be able to afford this. He uses a wheelchair p/t, I'm in the process of applying for a primary medical cert, can anyone help with this, any information appreciated.

My colleague wrote a very detailed blog post about car adaptations recently. You can find it here http://www.atandme.com/?p=1392. From the sound of it a swivel base for the existing seat might be helpful. The Disabled Drivers Association of Ireland (DDAI) and the Irish Wheelchair Association are both good sources of information about things like tax relief, adaptations & equipment.

I suggest you consult a couple of the approved specialist adaptation firms close by.
Here is the list of approved fitters

They should all be able to advise on what might be most suitable for your circumstances.
