    Hi all,
Hopefully some of you guys can help me out here. Im looking for the cheapest way possible to build a no claims bonus.
Im a 35 year old male and due to working abroad for a few years I have zero no claims bonus. I have rang various insurance companies and they dont want to know unless I have at least 1 years NCB. I have 1 year (almost 2 years) NCB on a motorbike since I have returned and this counts for nothing when trying to insure a car.
So my question is, what is the cheapest possible way to build a no claims bonus, whats the best company to do this with and what would be the best/cheapest car I can start this with.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

There is no one size fits all when it comes to cheap insurance.

You are literally going to have to call everyone and see what prices you can come up with.

Xcess direct are back in the Irish market.

They offer a basic comprehensive policy with little fringe benefits. They specialise in drivers that other insurers don't want. The only catch is that they have a €3000 claims excess.

Other than them perhaps try Boxymo.

The cheapest company for one person can be the dearest for the next. Only way is to get quotes from everyone and go from there.

Ask a VERY GOOD friend to put you as a driver on her/his policy and cover the premium difference (depending on the company, but should not be substantial)...

With gentlemen agreement like that just don't drive when that policy is in force. You don't want to damage her/his reputation should something happen - just get the "experience"...

After a year, get the Named Driver Experience letter - and getting your policy should be much easier...
