Changing name - deposit required?

I'm moving out of a shared rented house, the other tenants are staying on and would like to continue the account. The EI account is in my name.

Would a change of name on the account require a new deposit to be placed on the account? (the previous one has been paid back)

    Thanks

    Hi J o e,

Thank you for getting in touch.

A new account will have to be opened after you close your account/move out, and the security deposit would be automatically applied to this new account. However, if the account-holder sets up direct debit, this will eliminate the requirement to pay the security deposit.

There are savings offerings for paying by direct debit also - the Sales team can advise in more detail on 1850 30 50 90.

Alternatively, another way to eliminate the security deposit charge is to have a Pay As You Go (PAYG) meter installed - the relevant telephone number for this service is 1850 30 50 95.

Both telephone lines are open until 8pm Monday to Friday, and until 5.30pm on Saturdays.

If you have any further queries, please let us know.

    Best regards,
    Una
