A few weeks back, all my alerts (reminders to put out the bins, etc.) stopped working.

Any new calendar alerts I've created since don't alert me either.

Do Not Disturb is not enabled.

    Software is up to date.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.

    D.

Sign out of iCloud and then sign back in?

If you mean iCloud Drive, it was turned off in Settings.

I've just turned it on again.

    Let's see what happens.

    Thanks for the reply.

No, I meant sign out of iCloud itself - Settings > iCloud > (scroll to bottom of page) > Sign out.

Choose to keep your data, as you'll be signing back in shortly.

I did that, but no joy. Not a squeak from the alerts.

For what it's worth, when I'm on the home screen, if I drag the screen to the left, I see the next calendar alert there at the top of the list, with news, weather etc. underneath.

But, I not being prompted with a sound alert.

    Thanks again.

Assuming that you've checked Notifications for Calendar, then I'm not sure, but I've had experience myself over the years with Calendar alerts disappearing, but I've never really been able to pin it down to a particular issue/setting.

    Oops!

I think you may have solved it.

Notifications in Settings/Notifications/Calendar was Off.

Will know soon enough if that's the problem.

    Thanks. :P

Well, I'd presumed that you had checked that, but don't feel bad, because it seems to change of its own accord - I have found that changing handsets (backup, then restore) can cause it, but it has also changed on other occasions, but I've never been able to pin down why because, for a while, I don't notice it has happened, and by the time I do, it's too late to remember/confirm what was changed (if anything).

So, prompt appeared on my Home Screen today for the first time since I deactivated that button.

But, how a button I never even knew existed became turned off, remains a mystery.

    Anyway, thanks again
