Cheap NYC accomadation

Hi We are going to NY on April 16th for 3 nights and looking for recommendations for cheap hotels in manhattan if possible.

I'm going in April, got the Morningside Inn, upper West Side for $300 for 3 nights for 2 adults and 1 child.

Sadly cheap and NYC do not go together. Try AirBnb (I use it whenever I am in NYC). If you really want the peace of mind of a hotel then try Jersey City, Long Island City or even Brooklyn. Times Square hotel are generally expensive in the tourist trap area although ROW NYC in that area does sometimes have good deals.

Do not be put off by the name/description.
I have stayed there many times, the place is very professionally run and in a great location. It is popular with Irish aviation/ airport staff.

You could try sites like Hotwire and Priceline if you want to wait until last minute. They don't tell you what the hotel is but if you Google the description, it's usually accurate.

I got Homewood Suites on 37th and 8th for $250 a night through Hotwire.

I haven't stayed in it yet but it's on my list, I'd say it's ok because it's one used by a lot of the travel agents in Dublin.

I stayed in the gallivant times square location is good hotel grand.

Actually Hotel Pennsylvania has a resort fee which'll add 100 dollars over the three nights.

I just look at it - it says that it has a room on booking.com for 264 - but when you click into it, it has no such room @ 264.

Awful hotel. The lobby is amazing, but the rooms are dire. My parents stayed there in October and couldn't believe out dated and unclean it was. Not to mention pricey for what they got.

Janey thanks for the info, I presumed it was ok cause the America tour operator in Dublin recommended it to us before.

I stayed here when it was a TRYP last year. The location is unbeatable right by times square. The breakfast was terrible so don't pay for it. We hadn't a view as such just a nice theatre opposite no skyline, maybe higher up rooms might. The rooms were spacious compared to European.

It's €405 on booking.com which is a good price. The resort fee here is €16 which is on the lower side for these type of fees
