Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The second stop from Ruffier was even better than the first.

How can the ref give a free kick there when he wasn't even looking at it.

linesman can flag and speak to the ref.

    What a run Martial!!!

Course he can but he gave it at an instant when he turned around which was a split set by after it happened. Maybe he went on the linesman buz but he would of had to speak to the linesman before he made a decision

Lovely stuff by Martial there. Fairly open game at the minute.

St. Etienne finding it very easy to get at Man Utd's back four, just lacking that final bit of quality and composure.

Ibra must have money on someone else to score next.

Would be over the moon if we get through this game without conceding.

  • Registered Users Posts: 507 ✭✭✭MuPpItJoCkEy

United so slow to really get into the game this season. It's been mainly about the second half I feel.

Referee could do with waving play on in midfield a few times, quite a lot of falling over. Not a penalty, not a free-kick for the goal.

edit: exactly like that throw in.

It's a bit ridiculous that Man Utd are playing counter attack at Old Trafford against St. Etienne.

    goal coming for St E

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,054 ✭✭✭wanderer100

Defense is looking very shaky this half!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 20,779 ✭✭✭✭jayo26

We be extremely lucky to go in at half time a goal up. Giving them too much time on the ball and our defence needs to narrow up a bit loads of space in the middle.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

Lost our way here again and lucky to still be winning. They are getting at our back 4 very easily.

If Saint-Etienne had a significant goal threat they'd probably be leading. United need to have a spell of possession.

Bailly practically playing as a RB with Valencia caught time and time again up the pitch.. means Herrera has to slot in to the back 4 and giving them loads of room in the middle

Right now I'd settle for getting to half time without conceding!

St etienne having a good go here didn't expect this, don't deserve to be losing.

When anyone asks why Mourinho doesn't just play Pogba and Herrera in a double pivot, this half is your answer.

The more attacking team right now for sure.

Jaysis has Fellaini actually done anything in this game, so detached from the rest of the team. Get Bastian on or even Lingard and move Mata central.

Its very open and you couldn't begrudge them a goal, they're really having a go.

St Etienne looking the most likely to score here. Would want to put this tie to bed in this leg with it being at home. Won't be easy over there and would be nice to be able to rest some players with the busy fixture list etc

It's a bit ridiculous that Man Utd are playing counter attack at Old Trafford against St. Etienne.

How do you play counter attacking football while having over 60 percent possession? Saint etienne are getting the ball and running at us and we are attacking back for the past ten minutes.

United are under pressure they need to re group

Just as well for Utd that the ref is a ..

Fellaini rubbish tonight. Now watch him score and make a fool of me

It was fine against Leicester and Watford, should be fine against St Etienne too. Fellaini nowhere at all in this game

    Awful in front of goal

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

Blessed to be level at ht. jammy goal we got and St. Etienne have been very good going forward except for the last pass or shot. Causing us plenty of problems

Invite people on around the back, play your way out and quickly sprint into attack with one pass.

Fellaini is hopeless in a game like this. Saint-Etienne's lack of a top striker is keeping United in it. Might be necessary to bring Schweinsteiger on a the hour mark if nothing improves.

United are winning, and had some glorious chances to be 3 or 4 nil up. No need to panic.

Monaco do it brilliantly most games.

The midfield seems all over the place and the defense is shaking big time. I'm sure Jose is sorting it all out though
