Donnellans or Donnellan's?

Our local has been owned by a guy for years and they've recently got some new signage outside which states the name of the bar as "Donnellan's" now this started an argument earlier tonight over a few pints that should it not be spelled as "Donnellans" without the apostrophy.

Does anyone here have the correct spelling of what is gramatically correct for a bars name like that.

To be grammatically correct it should have an apostrophe but it is becoming more and more common to drop it in shop names and signage and usage is what decides is something is 'right' or not. There was a row a few years back when Waterstones, the bookshop, dropped the apostrophe. http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-16529653
