Could Molly not have been poisoned rather than gufc? The kill story sounds all gentle and romantic which would fit more with the story

I've been saying this hours ago, guys.....

Indeed, I noticed you were a lot more vocal since I mentioned I was suspect of you being quiet :P

well now I'm suspicious of jayop cos his explanation was so definitive but a few of us have poked (potential) holes now..

That wasn't my explanation. The bits in bold were added after I posted.

Oh sorry, thought they were being highlighted as suspicious.

Or it could be that I was dying on Sunday after a wedding on Saturday as I said all week, had a bank holiday yesterday (american company) and I'm back in the office this evening and this is when I do most of my internetting.

    OK so....

Slaughter 1 - no kill - Poss SK peek (surely that wouldn't cancel a kill??)
Lynch 1 - Sully (Benvolio Montague)
Day 2 - Molly (Fulgencio Capulet) shot middle of night
Slaughter 2 - Andy killed (Tybalt Capulet)- Seems like he was watched by Mercutio
Day 2 - GUFC (Rosaline) murdered, cause of death unknown - middle of day
Day 2 - Tigger (Villager) murdered, cause of death unknown - middle of day

This is the original post I made

As the sun rose over the beautiful city of Verona, residents turned on the news with trepidation. The city had been plagued with running gun battles between those loyal to the Montagues and Capulets, not to mention the rise in recent killings rumoured to be linked to a serial killer on the lose. But this morning there was no news of grim death, only glad tidings from the news reports.

The villagers breathed a temporary sigh of relief, at least today things were good, but make no mistake, plans are afoot, and villains in dark clothing are skulking around gathering intel.

What started as a peaceful day in Verona, descended into chaos. The villagers knew that evil walked among them, and someone had to be brought to justice so they could sleep soundly in their beds, but where to turn, with no hard evidence speculation was rife and that is how the mob ended up a Sully’s door. She protested her innocence, but the mob would not listen, through the streets they dragged her, to the town square where they tied her to a post. Her accusers, all six of them lined up in front of her loaded their guns, took aim and fired. Her bullet riddled body slumped against the post. Sully was no more.

Fair Verona in misty shade doth still suffers from this evening's action
Fresh blood does still ooze in the sliver of pale moonlight.
On the other side of the village cometh a strange reaction
Screaming shouting yelling as if there be a fight

Village folk did gather and notice this did they
A body a body a body on the stones did lay

    A villager approached the corpse
See how she leans her hand upon its cheek!
O that she wished she wore a glove upon that hand,
For that cheek did feel as cold as ice upon the land.

The crowd gathered and all could see
The corpse was none other than Molly B
In the shadows most did not understand
But some did know what led to this death in this fair land

Andy awoke in a pensive mood contemplating what the day may bring.

As he pottered about doing the mundane chores that make up most mornings, he did not notice a nimble figure all dressed in black creep through the kitchen window. By the time Andy realised he was not alone, the assailant had a gun to his head, and with a flash it was done Andy’s blood and bone fragments stained the white curtains as they moved gently in the soft breeze, while the glorious morning sun streamed in the open window illuminating the place where Andy lay, all the world outside unaware that another day of horror had begun in fair Verona

Elsewhere in the city's a car with tinted windows pulled up in the town square, someone was being watched, but who?

Gufc sat alone in his apartment above the busy town square, trying to fix his laptop. So intent was he in his work that he didn't see it coming. The police found him later slumped over the laptop, a bloody sight to be sure, but what was the cause of death?

Things, no longer quiet in this town,
a man or tiger doth frown,
ripping the wax strip from his breast
half smooth, chest glistening in his candlelit nest

Suddenly, a lifeless club foot doth fall
Tigger to the underworld does answer that call.

    RIP Tigger

All I'd say is I don't like the "low post counts = wolf" idea. I get the logic, but I know I'm on that list quite simply because I've not got much to say, and as a villager, I literally have nothing to add to conversations. :/

I think with nothing else on I'm going from that list of 5. Worst case scenario we kill someone who's not really playing.

I'm just a simple villager too, but I got plenty to say. Now, if I could only get people to listen .... that's a whole other problem.

It's not so much saying that low = wolf, more that with nothing to go on I'd rather for the sake of the game remove the lower posters and have those who are playing more stay on. Especially now with people like Tigger and Andy gone, the posting could easily dry up in a day or two.

I don't remember Mercutio having a club foot in the play and a quick Google isn't saying anything about it either.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 711 ✭✭✭grumpylumpy

May have misread the source on google:

"Christian Gray's stellar rendition of Mercutio's Queen Mab speech makes a strong case for viewing it as the hallucinatory aftereffect of some serious recreational opium eating — and his bad leg recalls Byron's club foot."

Also, christian gray = real person!
