Young Willy is clearly the greatest ASL interpreter of all time if he can translate so many scientific words. Also a random Culkin appearance.

Couple interesting cliffhangers. And Molly wasn't really thinking clearly telling him what she did

Another good episode, bit of a heartbreaking ending.

Sissy Spacek was amazing in this episode.

I don't fully understand the last scene
where Alan is at the door again. Has she decided to stay in the memories of the past

has she just realised that she is now in some kind of time loop?

Sissy Spacek was amazing in this episode.

The whole episode was brilliant. It was a total deviation from the way all the other ones went, but really good. It answered a lot of questions in relation to the father and all that.

The ending was really sad too.

I'm calling it... This is the best thing on TV in 2018.
I was trying to hold off until it was picked up by an Irish broadcaster, but with no sight of that, I finally cracked and on Friday I burned through what’s been aired so far, and I have to say, its frecking amazing. The cast alone had me excited, Scott Glenn, Sissy frecking Spacek, John Locke, and Bill "IT" Skarsgard, any boy, does it deliver. I haven’t enjoyed a season of TV this much since the first season of Stanger Things.

The last episode just blew me away. It really handled a delicate subject like dementia perfectly. The idea to portray it as a person who is
    lost in time and space
was genius. It could have backfired spectacularly, and come across as cheap and tacky exploitation of a horrible disease, to fill a narrative, but instead, it was handled beautifully and really ties the whole thing together. It was an amazing hour of television.

The whole season has been excellent, but this just took the show to a whole new level.

The lead character is great, I haven’t seen him in anything before this, but he's holding his own against some powerhouses in Glenn and Spacek. Melanie Lynskey is also terrific here.

I'm intrigued to see where it all goes. I have some thoughts.
1.) Is the sound John Deaver hearing actually the beams from The Dark Tower, the whole scene with Willy and Odin was giving me crazy Dark tower vibes.
2.) The question has to be asked, what’s the deal with The Kid? Pennywise? It might be possible. He doesn’t age. He’s creepy A.F and defiantly some sort of evil entity and 1991/2018… He’s been locked away for 27 year.
    3.) Or Flagg even?

I don't think she stays in that memory.
Throughout the episode her memories were out of order and the ending is just another memory from when Pangborn came back and declared his love. This just happens to be the memory that closes out the episode. That's all it is.

That would be my take on it as well.

Well I suppose we had John Locke going down the hatch in the first episode :D
Btw great acting by Bill Skarsgård, I wonder has that chip device we saw at the beginning of this episode got something to do with what's happening?

When should we be able to watch ep.10?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,382 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

Watched episode 10 and will comment later, but just a heads up that there's a scene during the credits, for anyone who turns off as soon as the credits start.

Oh this looks good for season 2 although it looks like we aren't going to find out what happened following the cliffhanger in season 1.

Really liked Annie's origin story this week and Ruby Cruz was great as a young Annie she had Lizzy Caplan's mannerisms down to a tee.

Loved this week's episode really emotional ending and continued on Annie's story from last week. Find this season a lot better then last season.

I have been watching this, watched the first 9 episodes of season 1, was really enjoying it , but didn't really like the alternative reality take it took on in episode 9 - was that a reference to Dark Tower ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 61,007 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Well no there is an interesting twist at the end.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,809 ✭✭✭Hector Savage

Has anyone here watched this show? Its got a very interesting premise. Surprised its only on Hulu which isn't available over here. Especially because its a show based on Stephen kings books and JJ Abrams is involved too Its got very good actors in it too

I watched series 1 for the first time on RTE there a couple of months ago. I loved it. Fantastic acting and kept me guessing.

Any idea when RTE will show series 2?
