Specialized programs with no install cd

I have been tasked to look at an xp machine that needs to be changed to a new computer and newer os....the computer was bought used and the apps need to be changed over. Is there any solution to this problem? Thanks.

That's going to depend entirely on the applications themselves. Some of them you could get away with just copying an executable. Others won't work unless they're installed from scratch.
