    Hi all
Travelling from Belfast to the Slieve League Lodge (Carrick) on Friday to stay until Sunday.
Can anyone advise of any tourtisty sights / things to do that we can stop at on the drive down and back?
Also any other things around the area except for Slieve League Cliffs that would be worth going to see?
    Any advice is much appreciated!
    Thanks
    Niki

    Hi Niki,

If you are travelling via Omagh, perhaps a stop off at the Ulster American Folk Park would be an idea. On reaching Donegal Town you could visit Donegal Castle or the Magee of Donegal store.

In Killybegs have a look at the fleet of fishing boats. Kilcar offers Studio Donegal handweaving.

Once in Carrick you can of course visit the Slieve League Cliffs or even do some hill climbing. Make sure to visit the Glencolmcille Folk Village and the Silver Strand beach in Malin Beg.

    Enjoy your time in Carrick!

Ask the hosts about port and the sea stacks there (very crap road out to it though so not advertised on tourists maps-climb to the right when you are looking to sea at the beach).
Maghera beach and caves(-need low tide), near ardara could be worth a look. Ascaranca waterfall is along the road to it and Glengesh pass would also be en-route from Carrick to ardara.

It's possible to hike from Sliabh league to silverstrand/Malin Beg if you are up for a proper trek. The one mans pass can be avoided or an extra challenge!

Also the cost road into Kilcar is worth the minor detour. Take the first left when you pass the Blue Haven hotel
