Went out to tie the bins and garden furniture down and the birds are singing like a summer morning? Odd!

Won't be too bad down south it seems but always worried about a squal line of severe gusts.

12.6mm recorded here yesterday, highest rainfall yet for 2017, yet could be beaten today.

I noticed this Sunday 1am and they were really loud..very odd but mustn't be storm related ðŸ˜

Nothing much in Cork but starting to whistle from the chimney..no schools open tomorrow so at least less people needing to head out in morning..great info from those in the know on here..keep it up as very interesting .

Yes very loud here too, even more pronounced as there's still not a breeze! Nice reminder of Spring and Summer either way.

Very wild night in Galway city, I haven't heard the wind howling like this at all since last winter. It's a proper full on storm by the sound of things.

Latest satellite fix has centre just west of Belmullet by about 40-50 miles.

Looking at previous map with M4 buoy and 984 mb pressure plot, this location on map does not match Met-E info saying that it's at 55N 10W, a location that would be basically north of Mayo. There is also the UK buoy between M4 and M6 on the map, probably closer to the location given for it (something like 55N 12W).

Anyway, if M4 is actually in Donegal Bay then it supports a 980 mb centre now west of Belmullet.

Radar shows developing squall line feature. This may get quite active next 2-3 h.

It will probably accelerate to become a reverse-C sort of appearance. Watch for bow echoes in midlands.

Gerry Murphy is giving the exact same forecast as on the 6.55 forecast.

Pressure has dropped down to 988.2 in Castlebar and still falling rapidly, blustery so far with some heavy rain starting to fall.

The west gets an awful battering from storms. :-)

I'm assuming it'll be much less severe here in waterford.

Am based around 10 miles north west of Tuam on an exposed hill (don't know how high above sea level). Came down especially for Doris. Is starting to get pretty windy outside. Have no weather station so no idea on max gusts or rainfall. All I can say is that it is windy and wet. And getting windier. And wetter too. Doris is my kind of girl (after she has had a feed of beans) :P
