Hi there,

Looking for advice on buying my first car. My budget for the car is 5000. It will be mostly city driving but my daily commute involves the m50. Doubt I'd be doing more than 15,000km a year. Was hoping to get nothing older than 08 and not larger than a 1.4.

I have been looking and wouldn't mind a
polo/golf or seat ibizia/Leon. Also thought a fiesta might be a good choice.

Any suggestions/opinions?

Get quotes from insurances companies before you go looking at any cars in person. For whatever bizzare reason, i couldnt get a reasonable quote on a 1.25 fiesta, but could on my 1.2 clio. Know of a lad aound my age (23) that was quoted 4k for his 08 fiesta last year :O And thats after he paid 4k for the car itself. I know that when i was looking at a new car a few months ago, Seats were the cheapest to insure. I personally like the look of the 09 ibizza and theyre basically a VW at a fraction of the cost.

I loved my little clio, so im very partial to the little thing. I'd say go for one over anything else, but i know im mad
