Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Just wondering, if I was travelling, would be very handy to carry what's basically an oversized memory stick to put into the HDMI of the hotel tv & cast my saved videos - TV/Movies I've ripped & stored on my phone to watch on the bigger screen.

I understand I'd need google Home installed, which is no problem but is it "cast-able"?

There are lots of third party video players on iOS that can cast.

Only issue that you might find, is that hotels often use crappy captive portals which can sometimes making the chromecast and ios setup on the same wifi network difficult.

And they can access the videos folder? Any suggestions?

Well they usually have their own "video folder" where you can copy videos to via itunes. They can then play videos from this "folder" *

I don't think they can play videos from the same "folder" that the iOS default video player uses, though I might be wrong about that, I'd have to double check.

    I use CineXPlayer

    * BTW iOS trys to get away from the concept of "files" and "folders", that is why there isn't a file manager in iOS. Though in reality it is all unix underneath, so there really are files and folders, they are just hidden.

Hmmmm.. I don't want to be doubling up on files. Already using the ATV so I guess I'll stick with that & the HDMI connector.
