    Hi,

Does anyone know if it is possible to get double yellow lines outside your house removed in Dublin city centre or indeed who decides where double yellow lines are put? The situation is a newly built house on a small side street that is a mix of terraced houses and the rear entrances to businesses. So there is pay and display and resident's disc parking with a few spaces marked out mainly outside the houses and the rest of the road is double-yellow lines, so the house in question is a new-build on what used to be a vacant space with vehicular access and, understandably, double yellow lines. Now that there is a new build on the site though it would make sense that one new residence = one new parking space. So, does anyone know, is this the sort of thing you can apply to someone to have changed; to remove the double lines outside your front door and replace with a pay-and-display space ?

    Thanks,

    Usjes.

Double yellows are decided by Dublin City Council traffic engineers and they do review them. You'd need to e-mail them at traffic@dublincity.ie giving the detail you posted here and a pic or two showing the on street changes.
