Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Looks like the turbo has failed on my 06 Mazda 3 1.6d . (240k km)

Is it possible to just change the turbo "cartridge" or does the whole assembly need to be balanced/tuned ?

It is a delicate job to change the rotor - you are probably paying enough for it and the labour to want a warranty on the job... I'd rather leave everything to one man. Ask the crown, maybe you can ship your turbo to them and have it sent back reconditioned?
How do i check for DPF blockage? no lights on the dash, seems to be a lot of manifold pressure when i remove the oil cap but how much is too much?

Are you sure you are experiencing exhaust manifold pressure at the oil cap? Or rather is it the pressure in crankcase?

The exhaust manifold is not connected to the crankcase. If you are experiencing a high crankcase pressure, my first guess is you have worn piston rings (High pressure from the cylinder going past the piston rings into the crankcase). If you can leave the oil cap unscrewed sitting on the opening without it being blown off, its should be OK. The only way to confirm is a leak check.

Yes, its possible to change the turbo cartridge, I've done it before, but dont get a very cheap unit. Just exchange the full turbo with one of the many turbo companies who will also give a warranty.

You can easily check the DPF differential pressure with any half decent diagnostic tool. The free ForScan software might work on your car with a €10 OBD2 adapter from ebay
