Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Just a suggestion...

In the Motoring & Transport forum
    There are main forums

    Motors
    Machinery
    Planes
    Bus and rail
    Insurance
    Boats
    Bike
    Campers
    Restorations

Now within that there is 9 other sub forums
Buying, Cleaning, Classic OldTimers, DIY, Hybrids/EV, Learing to Drive,
Mods---Not you Unkel ya idiot, Car modifications:pac:
Virtual Flying, Bus Enthusiasts, Rail Systems, Camping Locations.

There is a common thread among all those forums....
    ENGINES. From a 1.0 Fiesta to a Cummins V12
From a 45hp car to a 112,000 HP general electric engine.

Now what I'm asking, is it possible to put all updated threads into one subforum... I know its ironic, Im asking for another subforum but we get everything combined in all these categories into one place.
So we get the best out of each one?

Maybe, maybe not. I saw it in action in other forums and it seems to work.

It also opens up to more people the idea of visiting other sub forums that may have never crossed their minds at all.

eg if somebody in aviation posted a thread title "Antonov biggest plane in the world taking off" somebody who frequents Campers may go in to check it out.
If somebody in bikes posted a thread about "my custom Harley build" somebody who frequents bus and rails may check it out.

Motors will be the winner just because of all the motor threads that are created but it opens up the other forums that have engines in them as well.

Im not saying to change the forums. Nope. Im just saying that one more subforum with an amalgamation of all threads from the motoring world updated as they happen, opens a lot of doors to the other forums that have D'ENGINES in them --im off to trademark that word. Thank you D'Unbelievables

It would be a giant train wreck (excuse the pun).

    Yep.

Going back a very long number of years it was split as it was a huge mess. People with certain interests had to wade through a ton of rubbish and you also had people with no interest posting left right and centre as experts in everything.

Naturally it was the perfect place to troll whether intentional or not.

It's also not something that's logistically possible with the current Boards code base.

    Thank god for that
